I still had apps on the page... But I asked for my money back...
Do any of you know of any widgets that have calendar, weather and clock, three in one?
Beautiful Widgets has a very nice one but it doesn't display appointments. It does have quick access to the calender though. Add CalWidget to see appointments.
I posted this in the main screenshot forum but thought I'd so here too.
I use PandaHome but my dock bar and most icons come from OpenHome
The four big green and orange icons are a widget that lets you store up to 8 apps to save space on your screen. Touch the widget, select the app, and it launches. You can change the main icon widget that appears on the screen but once you launch it only the original icons are shown. Example of two of the launch widgets:
Because the battery is charging it shows it percentage but normally this widget also shows the hours and minutes remaining. Very handy and comes in two sizes.
This widget is called open search. It replaces the long google bar and saves space. Press the app to get the bar and keyboard (I use SlideIt, very different than a Swype)
But if you press the small icon to the left of the bar it gives you other search options. Here's a screenshot of the default searches but you can get more off the dev's website:
I'm thinking of switching to OpenHome or GDE but I'm fairly happy with Panda so not sure if I'll make the switch yet.

I love my virtual keyboard but it is not for everybody. It takes a few days to get used to but once you do you can type fairly quickly. The middle button is the main letter/character in orange. If you want one of the side ones on the key you just swipe your finger in that direction.
It's a free app and has a few different options as to the type of keyboard and setup. You need to download a free dictionary if you want word/spelling suggestions. The dictionary is not the best but it gets the job done.
It's great for those with bigger fingers or someone like me that kept hitting the key next to the one I intended.
Here are some key features of "Slide Keyboard":
· 2 styles of keyboards,
· 4 types of keyboard : alphabetic, azerty, qwerty and dvorak,
· quick switch between keyboards with the action button,
· vibration and sound on key press,
· French, English, German, Spanish and Italian dictionaries,
· words suggestion,
· automatically correct common typed mistakes,
· automatically adds new words to the dictionary,
· key shortcuts by doing gesture on the keyboard,
· toolbar for edition action (cut, copy, selection, ...)
· ...

Yeah, how did you get used to that keyboard? I tried it for about 15mins and couldn't get used to it.
Heh, I don't know. As soon as I tried it I knew I liked it. So I gave it a few days and love it now. I can not do the Swype of Slide keyboards at all. They drive me nuts and I'm so slow on the thing.
I used to have an Instinct and hated the keyboard which is how I ended up with the moment. I decided to try out this new virtual one just for the hell of it not expecting to use it but now it's my main keyboard I use. I still type faster on the manual slide out bar though.

I broke down and bought beautiful widgets...hehe

Yes I done the same thing, I bought that and Open Home too first paid apps I have ever got. And many thanks to all the other post peeps in here that gave me a clue at how to do this. So, here goes MY screen shots
Here are my screen shots running Gator Boots 3.3 which includes a modified launcher plus a font someone posted somewhere along the way. I'm running 5 screens with the center being my home.
Home Screen
Left of Home
Far Left of Home
Right of Home
Far Right of Home
Notification Pulled Down
Lock Screen
Hey I LOVE that black notification bar, do I have to root my phone to get it? I found the SDX web site but I cant find the answer there there by searching
I still have like 2 or three screens to fill out. Can you tell me how to post pics to them and messaging? I have Beautiful Widgets and Open Home...Thank you...
I've also noticed that my phone is now skipping a bit, not as smooth as it used to be...Is it because of all the new widgets and stuff now in the desktops?

Yeah the screen shots part is easy, from your home screen go. MENU, MORE, OPEN HOME SETTTINGS, ENABLE SCREENSHOTS. From there I uploaded the pics to my pc then to photo bucket and posted the pics from my pc. I know I could have skiped a few steps but that's just the way I done it due to other tasks I was doing at the moment

Okies, I'll give it a try...
What I meant is tho to put a couple of pics in the desktop on my phone...How would I do that?

if you want pic's on your home screen just add the picture frame widget (it's already on your phone) to your homescreen.
Do you know if there is a way to do a bigger picture than what the frame widget allows? Is there a different app? I'm also trying to figure out how to get a picture on there without a frame.

I know they have other picture widgets in the market. I've never downloaded any before though so I can't say how good they are.

yeah, i believe you need to have root to access the framework-res.apk that's being edited...
i think slug (mod) had it out for him... because he told someone to use the search button. i dunno... the mods run a tight ship around here (even they're all heroites).
Ok can anyone explain to me no matter what screenshot app I use all my screens come out black with no image. Im running zefies 14.3 so Im assuming Im rooted since I was able to delete the stock sprint apps. I cant use ddms in the sdk tools cuz Im having a hard time getting windows 7 to set everything up properly.
Zefie 14.3 with BlackAero theme
GDE home replacement with Glass theme and Bettercut/ Ibox icons
nice screen shots (other than of course the red wings lean... :P) hehe... they're looking pretty scary when healthy... hopefully the blackhawks pick it up.
We'll be lucky to get the 8th seed this year. Our goaltending is atrocious. Thanks though, especially with your help today.
Hey man, I was trying to download the BlackAero theme you shared...
I'm also running Zephi 14.3...
I downloaded the .zip file for the theme (v2.6) from the SDK website... and followed the instructions:
- boot into recovery mode
- clear davik cache
- upload zip file from sd card
- reboot
(the instructions from the wiki webpage have you repeat the steps...?)
Anyway, my phone is stuck on the colorsplash boot up screen (some sort of rainbow colors visualization splash screen). It's been doing that for awhile now...
The glass theme is a custom one that was made for 1.6 and up. The guy who created it ported it for me to 1.5. The theme is in the theme section title glass for gde. Contact the creator and ask if he'll release it for ya. You'll see my post in the thread. There's also a wow and raiders one but only the glass was ported. I would link it but I won't be on a pc till tomorrow. If you wanna wait ill get you his name in the morning.

The right 3 widget is pure messenger widget. I ended up getting the sdk package to work and used ddms in the tools directory to take my screens. All the market screenshot apps gave me blank pictures. Still don't know why

Cool... I have the instructions on how to use ddms bookmarked somewhere, I'll probably just go that route.
You may have to add a path variable if your running a windows 64bit Operating System:
* * On Windows, right-click on My Computer, and select Properties. Under the Advanced tab, hit the Environment Variables button, and in the dialog that comes up, double-click on Path (under System Variables). Add the full path to the tools/ directory to the path.
nice - is that just a picture frame on the 4th screen (with the different color android guys) or is that something else?
That's a little "Simon" game widget. You can either load the game or play it directly on screen. Kinda fun time waster. The name is mem. Now linked for your pleasure.

Using Blackaero 2.6 w/ glass Orb icons, Beautiful Widgets, HAL 9000 wallpaper (need to fix the scaling somehow), SpeedDialer, and a few others. SetCPU needed a refresh that I missed (now set at 800/400 not 800/66). Pretty much what I've been doing at work with my downtime. Screen 3 (first image) is my main screen.
Edit: "The Dimension limits for this filetype are 620 x 280. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 320 x 480." What the hell? Guess I'll imageshack them.

Reason: imageshacking.
It's called Launcher Dock by Bratag. You can use any of the icon packs from Better Android to change the icon on the home page but all the original icons will be used once you launch it. It can hold up to 8 apps/contacts per dock.
Love this widget as it keeps my home pages nice, clean and clutter free. Plus the widget and icon packs are free.
It works on all the home replacements.
Lately I've been using this on GDE home replacement and it's a bit tricky to get it to work so let me know if you need help with that.

I must admit I am surprised at the popularity of the giant clock widget from BW on peoples' home screens. It covers up the wallpaper and there is already a clock in the notification bar. What am I missing?
