I installed Launcher Pro and like it fine but wanted to know if anyone else was getting those pesky force close screens. Also, how much battery life do these homescreen/app launchers take up? I'm still configuring everything and installed and uninstalled a few things (Advanced Task Manager for one - the ads worry me) and not sure if that was a factor. I like the idea of the tagged one...any input would be awesome.
Is there a certain combo of homescreen/app launcher with battery and task monitoring/killing that has been successful for anyone?
This is my first web phone so I'm going a bit crazy with FB right now and screwing around online, yeah I know I'm behind the times LOL.
My whole goal was to get a phone that can be used as a productivity/fun tool.
I've been using Launcher Pro for a week and don't have any fc issues. This is the first launcher replacement that I haven't had problems with and dumped after a day or two. I doubt there's any significant battery hit for a launcher replacement barring some poor coding by it's developer. For increased battery life and performance, consider rooting and flashing a hacked rom. I don't use a task killler, but I do have system panels kill all widget on one of my home screens just in case something goes awry. Have fun!

You have to re-download manually, as far as I know. I use it and love it!! I paid $2.99 to unlock it as well. Very very sweet.
Very VERY interesting thread. Thanks for all your points
Do you think a kind of hybrid could be possible, for instance by using LauncherPro for the homescreens (and its amazing 15 key multitouch scrolling dock!!!) and TagLauncher for the app drawer and categorization capabilities it comes from ?
TagLauncher smells light enough to stay together, but I think only the app-drawer couldn't be executed directly by a launcherpro button.
Right ?

I've never used TagLauncher so I couldn't give you an answer. But if you do find out let us know!

I bought Launcher Pro twice for both mine and my wife's phone. It is completly fast and stable. I rooted both phones with noobnl's Radioactive 1.8.6 ROM. Now these phones are where they should be for performance, function, and looks.
Upgrade and get a nice calendar and bookmarks widget that are really cool, plus a messaging and peoples widgit too.
