I can't decide how important a slider is/isn't to me. I have an OG Droid and I have to say I do like the physical keyboard. But for a true beast I might be willing to put the effort into liking a non-slider. I think you and I are in the minority for liking sliders - apparently they aren't "cool" but then I've never been a cool kid LOL

Yea i would have bought the d3 in a second if it were 4g..
I guess with a big enough screen the keys are almost as big as on a physical keyboard..

Wow, I didn't know this forum is resurrected today. Most folks here already moved to Nexus Prime forum. I'm not sure if stratosphere (single core 4G slider) is coming at all. Verizon is getting Prime later in Fall from all indications, so I have zero interest in stratosphere even if it's real.

Hey, I'll be looking at this phone when I go in to check out the Bionic! I would like a slider, but I don't think I like this one's curves. It reminds me of the Charge.
Mystery solved... I guessed wrong. Suppose this is great news for folks who absolutely NEED a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, though. Good for them!
The epic is a solid phone.. but i did note a lot of battery life complaints on wimax 4g.. its a 1500mah.. im afraid it wont be any better than the current crop in that regard..
The Stratosphere is supposed to have an 1800mAh battery, which is better than even the Thunderbolt. I don't understand why everyone is comparing this to the Droid Charge or Nexus Prime. This phone is a QWERTY slider, it's a horse of a different color. Hardware QWERTY keyboards are few and far in between, and I find that sad. I really dislike my Motorola Devour but I'd rather have it than the Thunderbolt, Droid Charge, Droid X, or Nexus Prime because at least it has a goddamn keyboard. LTE slider phones are desperately needed and the Stratosphere is finally filling that void. Sure, I'm hoping HTC or Motorola will jump on board and cram a better processor into one, but it's looking like this will be my next phone.

Would you care to share where you saw that? That's even bigger than Bionic's 1735mAh, Charge's 1600mAh. And what's the processor, RAM like in stratosphere?

That's the same size as the SGS2 so it's no surprise the Stratosphere could have that.

Stratosphere is more likely to be close to the Epic 4G form factor (1500 mAh) than the SGS2..
I remember seeing that the Stratosphere would have a small bump from the Epic, probably 1600mAh, but I can't remember where I saw it nor can I substantiate it better than that..
The Samsung Stratosphere is a 4G LTE device for Verizon. It is a mid-range handset featuring a 1GHz processor, 4-inch Super AMOLED display and 5MP camera, and is the first LTE device in Verizon's lineup to feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
