Default factory e-mail

How do I delete the factory installed yahoo e-mail app? This app started giving me multiple copies of the same e-mail along with weird text messages from 6250 which look like it gave some code with two numbers. I'm guess they were for unread:total messages in my server box.

To fix this, I added the K-9 app which is working great; but, my pull down bar still pops up with new e-mails for yahoo. It has an outrageous number of mails and I don't want to open it and delete hundreds of messages every day. I'd rather just get rid of it and work strictly with K-9.

Most factory installed software cannot be removed without rooting. You could go into settings and remove the email account from the yahoo app. That should clear up the multiple notifications issue.
