Notification bar alert tone

My Strat, when powering up, would occasionally start a beeping alert tone that would continue until I pulled down the notification bar.

It's now doing it while powered up.

What is this?
I can't find any sound setting that should be impacted by manipulating the notification bar.

it is probably your sd card has become corrupt or it needs re-seating or replaced.

This was my first thought exactly... I would remove and reinsert the SD card, then probably reformat it in the phone, remember to copy all important data like pictures, video, and music, off of the card first.

Did a cache clearing and restart ... all seems well for now.

But just in case it returns, just curious, why might this be related to the SD card?

One of the first things the phone does upon booting is a Media Scan, if you unlock quick enough and catch it you will see that occuring, it scans the internal storage then the sd card, if it fails or sees and error it will audibly alert you to that... for example, a read error occurs, the phone alerts you then retries it, if it works the second (or some subsequent time) it will clear and continue and you would miss the alarm.

The other thing you could do to verify this enable USB debugging, install the Android SDK, and run a adb logcat to see what is occuring, it might give you more insight if this continues.
