Astro File Manager includes a good app backup manager which I use which loads all the apps in their native .apk format into a folder it generates called Backup/Apps on the SD card (I assume you have one installed). Once the backed is complete save that folder and any of your date fo;ders like pictures, music, documents or videos to a folder in your computer. After reset you can load Astro FM from the Play Store and then reinstall the Backup/apps folder to the SD card if it was deleted during restore and reinstall the apps from there. If you have any suspicions about any app which may have caused your problem don't install them initially. If your phone is stable then install the questionable apps one at a time and check your phone after each install. Or just don't install them if you don't need/want them.
Good luck1
