I had before, so why not now...oh yeah I know what I did I enabled the double security or what ever they call it. When ever you access you GMAIL account on a computer, your smart phone is sent a code that you type in to gain access to your gmail account. So any app that you use that using your gmail as authentication, if there is no way to get or enter this code, then authentication will fail.
also when i put my phone in my pocket I turn the display towards my leg for screen protection.

Not sure what you mean? If you're using 2 Step verification, you need to give your phone an application specific password. Have you done that?
