Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting into learning what you guys do. Where would the best place to start? What language and version do I start with?

Devving for this phone is mostly modifying what is already there... So pick a cool feature you want to add to the phone from xda or here or wherever, deodex a rom and try to add it. That is the best way to start imo.. dont get wrapped up in languages till you tackle something that will need it and the majority of mods dont.

Well I'm kinda of wanting to get into apparently building as well and want to learn the code rather than just WYSIWYG programs. I just got a computer for free so I have to do some upgrades, once I do that I plan in putting Ubuntu 12.04 on it and star playing around. I'm pretty sure ill be making a presence in the forums, picking.g the brains of those more knowledgeable than I.
Thanks fir the tip!

Most use Ubuntu 10.04 lots that have helped me learning. See what others who build use that are helping you so the steps are he same.

Good tip Latin, thanks. I always want to go for the most up to date version and didn't think about the point you made. Good thinking.
