I just got off the phone with sprint (again, after being hung up on 4x) and was told this by a supervisor named Kimberly at the Louisiana call center. "There is an issue with some of the sprint transforms and the froyo 2.2.2 update." This is "apparently" why the PRL, Firmware and Profile updates are failing. I am supposed to take my phone to a sprint store and have it replaced. I think it is a load of crap and I got 5 different answers from the 5 different people I talked to. Anyone have the number to Sprint's corporate complaint department? 5 hours on the phone with sprint between 2 days and I didn't throw the phone once. That's a record.
