Default Fancy Widget

Has anyone here tried Fancy Widget? Do you like it? If so, where did you download it? I can't find it on the marketplace. It shows the time, weather and forcast:

Oops, answered my own question here. I guess the widget was pulled off the Market temporarily due to a complaint by HTC. Apparently, it is being fixed and will be released soon:

Due to HTC's complaint, the current Fancy Widget will soon be discontinued. However, a new version will come back shortly with our own designs and more exciting features. Please follow the latest updates on our website. Thanks to everyone who supported us.

There are plenty of others that do the same thing. Try "weather forecast & clock widget" in the market. It is free.

Beautiful widgets is more popular and probably has better themes as well. Personally, I tried it and got a refund. I really don't see the need to have a huge widget with the time and weather when the phone already has the time and I don't need to know the weather 24/7.

LOL, I love the bloody apple! So what if I'm not downloading it from the market? Is it free then? Also, what did you use to take that awesome screen shot?

I have this on my phone right now and love it, but unfortunately my droid's screen broke and I am getting a new one sent to me and I would hate to lose it. Does anyone have the apk file for it?

I had that widget on my Behold II and it drained my battery due to polling and gave a sleep bug.

Be careful, its not optimized.

I have Weather & Toggle Widget Donate version prominently displayed on my homescreen, absolutely love this app. The animated weather is cool.

I've used them all. I prefer Fancy Widget because it's simplistic and doesn't put a bunch of extra junk on your phone like Beautiful Widgets and Weather & Toggle Widget.

I have the APK if you'd like it. It isn't warez since it's free to begin with. If you'd like it, just PM me and I'll upload it for ya so that HTC doesn't come bombarding androidforums.

Sure, if you have not done so already, go to the Marketplace on your phone then download and install Barcode Scanner, then start Barcode Scanner, aim your camera at QR Code below and follow the directions.

Note: This was working yesterday. I'm not sure when or if it might be taken down.

As robo said, go to the Market, do a search for: Barcode Scanner, download this app. Activate this app, focus the camera on the QR code robo provided above, once you hear the beep, click Open Brower. It'll take you to the market to download this Fancy Widget app.

If you like the Barcode Scanner I highly recommend that you try Shop Savvy. It will use your device's camera to read the UPC barcode off of merchandise and then shop Internet and local retailers (GPS enabled) to find the best pricing.

I had the same problem initially. Try activating your GPS. If your GPS is turned off Fancy Widget will not know which city's weather to put up.

"USE WIRELESS NETWORKS" Activate it in LOCATION AND SECURITY.

It does not require you to activate GPS. I just did this and works for me.

ok don't bite my finger, look where I'm pointing. All I'm saying is that the app needs your location to get weather, either GPS or use wireless networks will accomplish this.

Not necessarily and even IF true, irrelevent. Once your Fancy Widget finds your location you can shut off GPS or Wireless Network location as the app now knows your location.

The only time you would need to turn GPS or Wireless Networks is if you change location. It does not need to remain on for weather updates.

You can also enter in a specific zip code if you don't want either of those sucking down your battery.

^^^

like steveslimer said, just click on the clock, then hit weather settings, then set location and put your zip code in so you don't have to bother with the gps

Do a search on Android Marketplace and you will find it.

Default Fancy Widget..

I've played with alot of diff. Weather apps and think Fancy Widgets is one of the best. I have a little too much time on my hands, so I really do try them all; Fancy Widgets looks great and is free. It's actually a Widget that you don't have to do anything extra to see the weather and unlike Beautiful Widgets, doesn't really drain your battery (from what I read, not experience)

Love to take a screen shot but it looks bad through my webcam (8MP) and don't have or know which screen grab app to use???

Hope that helped...
If your looking for a widget that looks great, this is it.
I found it on the web, not in the marketplace......

You can use "shootme" for the screen capture. it's free and it works fine.
As far as a weather widget, I tried this one but have recently opted for the cleaner look of the weather.com widget. (wide banner) it displays the current weather plus the next day. Looks sharp.

Fancy Widgets is a freebie teaser app with limited feature. If you like what you see so far, for a few dollars I would highly recommend Weather & Toggle Widget (aka Weather Widget Donate). This paid version gives you over 150 skins, 3 different size widgets, but best of all I absolutely love the animation of rolling clouds, lightening, dripping rain drops & windshield wiper action with the free Weather Forecast Addon app.

I've also tried Beautiful Widgets for a day but uninstalled and got refund. This was during the time the developer was going through the change of weather service and had all types of FC problems. I heard that it is fixed now, I might give this another try.

nice program but still sucks the life out of your battery just as bad as b widgets does.

i keep going back to the weather channel app. i think it's the best one. doesn't take up half your screen displaying the clock which doesn't make much sense to me since the time is displayed in the status bar and the weather is always accurate.
