Odd that I stumbled across this thread when I did. I've been using Swype since I got the phone on the launch date and it's pretty awesome. But just a few minutes ago I switched to using the regular keyboards. Can't really decide if I like them better over Swype and also can't decide if I like the Samsung keyboard more than the Android Keyboard or vice versa.

I hate the built in "Android Keyboard". I'm so glad that Samsung put their own spin to it. Coming from a G1, I was worried that I would hate not having a keyboard. I don't.

I do like the Samsung keyboard, swipe made me think too much about where to move my finger. Though lately I've been using the swiftkey beta keyboard. It sure is still beta, but I do like its auto-complete features.

I kept on switching around keyboards, but lately after I got Swiftkey, I only use that now.
After using it a while, it learned all my words and it works really great.
Swype was nice for a while but it's really a pain when you have to tap in the word because the keys are so small.

I love swype but I tend to still use both techniques. I mean, typing "is" using swype takes longer than using each thumb. But I'm still new to the phone so in time, I'm sure I will go full swype.

The keys are to small when you hold the phone upright. That's why I always swype in landscape.

I am a little perplexed about this as I am presuming that the Samsung Keyboard and Swype are two totally different technologies. One you have to press each individual key and the other you swype each individual key. So, liking one or the other would be totally a personal preference as to how you desire to input your words. Correct?

I tried using the Samsung keyboard for a while but ended up installing the HTC_ime. There is a Hi-res version in the nexus forums on xda that works perfectly.

You know what I would like to see is the multitouch keyboard on the Droid X I've heard the folks at Engadget Mobile rave about. That I would love to see on this phone as typing in landscape would be alot better as sometimes my thumbs just fly and I'll have words with some letters flipped around, but then auto-correction helps with that.

Having not seen the stock android keyboard, I can't really compare the two. But I like the samsung keyboard quite a bit.

Still, I prefer swype. Much faster typing speed.
