Default Vitality Hotspot

I just got my first smart phone, the Samsung Vitality. I am a bit of an old foggie and am not very tech savvy. Is there a way to make my new Vitality a hotsport for my lap top. I keep reading about teathering and rooted phones, and all of this seems really confusing and everything I have tried including downloading apps doesn't seem to work.

After rooting my vitality I found that the cricket network blocked tetherimg ability, but...

Last night I successfully loaded a prerooted rom onto my vitality and tricked it into thinking it rs a metro pcs phone, then I programmed the phone on the cricket network and bam, even though my network reads as metro pcs, I have my same number, text/data/calls work just fine, plus, I can tether my laptop or tablet to my phones 3g data. I'll post up a step by step guide later tonight.

Make sure you set up adb, I don't feel like including how to do that on my tutorial, there are plenty guides on that.

Go over here http://androidforums.com/admire-all-things-root/ for a guide on how to root your phone and install cwm and also remember to do a backup. After you have rooted your phone you can try the tethering.

Im interested on how you got your tethering to work. I have to go into the buildprop and change out one of the lines from true to false and is now working but when I installed Admirial Beast it still didnt work and yes Im with cricket on the vitality and my phone says metro too lol
