    HTC Desire and Android Vanilla possible?

    I am still awaiting the arrival of my HTC Desire, but while reading up on Android I see that HTC is very slow on updates if they come at all. If HTC does not update to Froyo as expected or kills the updates after Froyo, is it then possible to run Android Vanilla on this phone?
