Will the next Windows be Linux?

Will the next Windows be Linux? Let's take a look at the situation MS is in. WinPhone is dead. MS made their big play for WinPhone to become relevant with the Nokia deal and failed completely. So now they have a dead mobile OS, and old, 2nd rate OS still using a silly drive lettering system...

Thanks! Sorry I have to go.

When I came to this site something like 5 years and almost 5000 posts ago, I didn't bother with formally introducing myself. I just dived in and started answering questions as best as I could. But after all this time I felt like I should formally say goodbye rather than just disappear. So...

Built new MiniPC. Load CentOS 7.1 or Fedora 22

Finally decided it's time to replace my ancient workstation. No more tower with 2-3 HDs spinning, this time I got a Shuttle barebones MiniPC, actually a model intended for commercial use. Stuffed with Intel, a Samsung 500GB SSD and 16GB RAM it will pack a good punch for a book-size box. Parts...

AT&T and the (true) cost of privacy

AT&T is at it again. Trying to compete with Google Fiber by seeming to offer the same gigabit speed at the same price. Except they really don't. AT&T has put a price on your privacy. Pay the premium or they track everything you do and everywhere you go online. And will share the...

Meego Discussion (From HTC One X thread)

Nokia didn't need WP7 or Android. Nokia already had Maemo which was far superior to WP7 and Android. They just needed to keep developing it and trash Symbian. Microsoft $$$ put a stop to that. M$ needed Nokia's market share to make WP7 a player and Nokia couldn't resist billions in M$ cash...
