    Are android software updates stored only on internal phone memory?

    hi, i was just wondering whether sony android phones require phone internal memor only for android or manufacturer software/firmware updates? or can i use my sd card memory to store the update data? i own the xperia ray and dont think i will have enough internal memory required for the 4.0 ics...
