Just started a thread in the Lounge about this, VERY frustrating but, hope itīs for the better!
A lot of posts from yesterday vanished. They must have rolled the clock back. I wonder what happened.
Are you sure? I reloaded the page and the new posts appeared.
I think they're having a cookie acceptance issue as they work on the database, etc. (you have to reload after each new post, including your own, it appears).

Pretty sure bro, I had over 3k posts yesterday, new avatar, and premium membership, now all are gone..
I'm sure Rob or Phases will explain, but it seems clear that they had to do a "restore to previous time" with the site in order to wash out some bad code or other damaging thing which apparently occurred recently.

I just briefly chatted with Phases.. something went very wrong and we were forced to restore a backup of the site which was made one day ago. Yes, this means that one days worth of progress/activity is now missing. We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused. Please expect a more official, detailed statment from Phases sometime tomorrow.

I noticed the rollback to Thursday's backup. And I thought it was because the site got infected which is usually the reason for rollback.

Thanks for the update. Just curious...do you do incremental backup of your database? If you don't, you might want to consider that because you might not be able to do manual backup the next time. Are you using MySQL?

That's a good suggestion, but like I said above, I'm just the messenger. I have nothing to do with the technical aspects of the site.. that's all Rob and Phases. Hopefully they'll chime in soon.

It just goes to show how important it is to make backups. You never know when something may go terribly wrong and you have to revert back to a previous version. I'm just wondering if they used SpRecovery or clockwork. I know, not a very funny joke, but I just woke up.

Hopefully after maintenance is done (hopefully tomorrow) rob or phases will chime in here and give us some more details. Either way i am glad rob gave us the heads up, even though i didn't see it till after the fact

Was practically the same thing that happened to me, was in the middle of pm'ing a mod and poof! nothing. Been having internet problems for weeks so that's what i thought it was initially. Finally got the database error so i knew it was just the site.
I couldn't even access the forum until I cleared my cache + cookies. The forum appeared to be frozen in time for me - no new posts and things still appeared unread even after reading them.
We do apologize for the time warp, We lost 24-48 hours of data and had to restore back to the 12th, yesterday. Trust me, I'm as unhappy about it as anyone else. One day I leave, ONE, and that fool breaks everything. Do you see why he needs a babysitter?
I'm jus' playing. :P This is bad, does cause some of us to duplicate our efforts with some things, etc etc - but in all honesty.. we've gone through worse than this.
Details will come later on what happened.
For now - please let me know ANY problems/inconsistencies you're experiencing. Here or via PM. If someone really did have access to our moderator forums, please let me know the details. If anyone lost their Premium membership, let me know. I'll look at the logs, and restore. If things are still acting funky, let me know what is happening and if it is something you can purposely recreate.
We need details while we work though this. Again, we do apologize we will work to get everything back to normal as soon as possible. Expect a post on Phandroid from Rob tomorrow, we will link to it on here.
