As you can see there are some ongoing changes happening to the forums right now. If you come across any bugs - and at this point you probably will - you can feel free to post them here.
Thanks!

On the main page of this site (I did want to use the term "front page" but it sounded way too Microsofty and cliche), clicking the "top five stats" hyperlink brings up a monster sized white box and right in the middle a tiny little cute menu that is dwarfed by the sheer size of its parent, I feel sorry for the poor little menu sitting there all on its lonesome in the cold, please make it feel all snug and warm

Me: The intranet is broken
Sys Admin: Stop using firefox
Me: But phases told me to quit using IE
Sys Admin: What is more important, AF or the intranet?
Me: AF of course
Sys Admin: wise choice, wise choice, but how are you going to submit your expenses?
Me: Dont spend anything
Sys Admin: Problem solved

LOL.
Seriously though.... yeah it's an IE bug.. it occurs with our popups, like the "quick links" and stuff. In fact, it's happening on a number of vbulletin sites I'm on.
I can understand why it is an IE bug, Microsoft are infamous in the way they ignore standards. Fortunately (without using WINE) I am unable to run IE on my home machines.

When you edit one of your own posts using quick edit. There is no option to save, you have to click the "vote now" button to save your changes. Its not obviously clear that this is what you should do, and your not actually voting for anything anyway.

are you looking within the post itself? you will see save, go advanced, delete and cancel.
under that you will see edit, quote, etc.. ignore those. use the save button withing the box

It did it again just now, the save button was called "Vote". I edited again and it changed back to "Save"...
HI... Functionally I can go to places I click... Aesthetically, it sucks! lol The boxes that come when you click on search, new posts quick links come up reaally wide with the boxes in the center... Is it just me or is this accross the board?
Thank you!

I don't see any posts about the site itself being very, very laggy at times (on my computers, not my Eris ).
The pages will often take whole minutes to load, or just not load at all. This has been happening at random times, but more frequently for about the past two weeks, I'd say (I wish I'd taken mental note of when I first began experiencing this).
I have switched from this laptop to a PC in the next room, then to one down the hall not on the same router, and doing so has had no effect on the problem.
Of course, being random, occurring without warning as to time of day or other conditions, I have no way to predict or duplicate the problem.
So, all I can do is ask about it here; has anybody else seen this? I do recall one user mentioning it in the Eris or Verizon forum the other day.
I'm having tons of issues the last couple of days in regards to login, new posts of a thread notifications, and go to first new post functionality.
This is on chrome on two separate computers (home and work).
First it wasn't even trying to log me in automatically and when I manually logged it still doesn't reflect which threads had new posts properly. I cleared two androidforum cookies on both machines and these two issues are slightly better. I've never been properly logged in from the main forums list page, but when I go to subforums it logs me in (or at least it shows me as logged in properly).
But now when I click the icon to jump to the first new post it just takes me to the first post in the thread.
This has been happening for a couple days now, but the HTC Hero forum keeps going to the All Things Root HTC Hero forum and I can't get to the Hero forum.

Phases is aware and is looking into the issue.

Look's like the issue has been corrected.

I notice, often - like every other day (which means to much), the server is not accessible or down. Sometimes for 15-20 minutes. Sometimes less.. but it is very common. Go to answer a thread, server down. login to the site, server down.

VIA email. I have to check USER CP to see if someone has responded. I did not get one from your response....FYI....
Oh, that's an easy fix. Go to User CP > Edit Options (in the left pain) > Head to the second box down, Messaging and Notification > In the second option down, Default Thread Subscription Mode, click the drop down box and select Instant Email Notification > Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.
This will fix the subscription for future threads you reply to.
For threads that you are already subscribed to, go to User CP > in the first box, New Subscribed Threads, click View all Subscribed Threads > select all of the threads that you want to receive email notification for by clicking their respective check box > scroll down to the bottom and click the drop down menu > Select Instant Email Notification > Press Go.
All set
....Hope all of that makes sense

Oh my....makes total sense, however I had all that already. I have not been getting notifications for some reason for the last month or so. PM's phases and he said he knew about it (site issue) and was working on it....that was last week.
Then I should be getting them if they are marked "instant", right? Cause I am not.....
Well this didn't fix our email delivery problem - it only helps to not make it worse while we try to fix it. We know many emails aren't getting delivered..
PM me your email account I'll verify it's at least entered right in our system.

TEST - Phases can you reply here to see if my notification works. Thanks!

just happened.. again. 10 minutes no server access
I just spent like a half hour+ writing an app review and when I clicked "Post Review" I discovered it logged me out and I lost my post... Needless to say I was kinda pissed. Anyways I'll be retyping my post and this time I'll be sure to copy & past it before I try to submit. Hopefully it was an isolated bug.
