Default Camera focus Alignment

I could swear when I first got my Alpha2 with Gingerbread that my camera was focused on my face when I held it in front of me (landscape). After upgrading to ICS, the camera now focuses on my ear when in the same position. I know the camera hasn't physically shifted, so I'm wondering if GB had the camera adjusted so that the focal point was at a different position? Does this sound plausible?

If I want to video chat or make a video of myself, I have to adjust the tablet so I'm in the center of the screen with the tablet at an awkward position.

Does anyone know of any mods or changes that can be made to shift the focal point?

I also get an error and crash when trying to go into Panoramic mode.
