Default Barcode scanner

I have a Samsung Galaxy Centura with Verizon. It's my 1st smartphone and don't quite know what to do with barcode scanner? What's suppose to happen after a barcode is scanned?

Depends on thethe bar code. Typically a product bar code when scanned will bring up product information - a data connection is needed for the app to search the Web for information. QR codes (the Square blocks of black and white) can carry all sorts of info such as text addresses coordinates links to websites etc

Have a look at the app QRdroid on playstore.

I don't scan barcodes that often, but I've always got Barcode Scanner (oldie but goodie ) installed and handy.
