Default Arc S ICS prob:display Sleep always default back to 2 mins & gmail sync not-so-auto

I am using Arc S on ICS 4.1.B.0.431

I am experiencing 2 issues and hope someone can assist:

1) I have set my Display/Sleep default to 1 mn. However every few hours, for some unknown reasons, the default will revert back to 2 mins. Anyone has such experience and/or know a solution?

2) I have set my gmail to auto sync. However it only seems to "sync" when I open gmail instead of automatically sync when at a regular basis. Is it because there is a setting for a sync regularity? If so, does anyone know where? Otehrwise it seems to be a bug with ICS (I had no such issue with Gingerbread on my former Galaxy Ace).

Thanks.
