Default Xperia Arc dropping calls

My wife has a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

Since last "firmware" update (done using Sony Ericsson update software installed on desktop) we have been experiencing a series of calls dropped after a couple of seconds.

It doesn't seem to be a carrier issue, because it started after last update and because we have used that SIM card in another phone and calls are not dropped.

The "symptoms" are simple: after a few seconds of conversation one person cannot hear the other and a little later the call is dropped.

Does anyone have the same issue?

Specs:
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
Model: LT15a
Android version 2.3.4
Base band: 8x55a-AAABQOAZM-203028D-56
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf SEMCuser@SEMCHost #1
Version number: 4.0.2.A.0.42

I'd suggest to do the Repair Phone option on PC Companion to see if that helps in case it is a software problem.

Is it possible that radio version makes calls drop more easily?

I'm sorry but what exactly do you mean by radio version?
