Ok, here it is.
There is an article stating that the Xperia series won't receive a new Kernel:
"Sony Ericsson Developer Karl-Johan Dahlström has confirmed that the company’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will use the same linux kernel that it is currently using for existing software. The Xperia Android 2.3.4 software is using the 2.6.32 linux kernel (as is the alpha ICS ROM from Sony Ericsson) and it was hoped that the final ICS update would use a newer kernel"
Since I am a noob in all phone development stuff, let me ask you these basic and simple questions:
The current kernel version of my phone is 2.6.29
So when Sony will release the ICS update, will my phone's kernel be updated to 2.6.32 ? Or will it stay as it is?
And also, is kernel 2.6.32 enough to allow features like Native Wifi Tethering, Sending apps to SDCard, etc...?
In short will the ICS update allow the xperia mini to support those features, or shall I forget about the update and flash some roms and kernels?
thanks for answers.
