Default Xperia Mini St15i: What will happen when I insert a new sim card?

Good day!

I have an unlocked Xperia St15i (running 2.3.4) and intend to purchase local sim cards while travelling soon. I am concerned about what data the phone will dump if a new sim card is inserted.

I'm pretty sure that the contacts will remain in the phone but what about stuff like my text messages (SMSs), applications, application data, etc.?

Thank you all in advance for any light you can shed on this!

The handset will keep all information on it, this info is not lost only call settings and sms settings are changed, but you will not lose the data.
