Default I want the Slider to turn off The Screen

On my previous phone (Alcatel OT-980) I ticked a box in the settings so that when i snapped the slider shut, the phone went off and the screen comes on when I open the slider. On my new Xperia Pro this doesn't happen.
Is it possible for me to do this on Xperia Pro? Does anyone know an app or something which will do this?

It's of especial concern to me as I find the button underneath is rather hard to reached, and I'm so used to the screen going dark when I snap shut the slider.

Regards, John

Unfortunately this is not the case with this phone. There is no option on the menu to make the display go off when you snap shut the slider.
