Type the right password and e-mail?

Seriously, give us more details, is this a Gmail account? Are you using Moxier, the E-mail application, etc. and then maybe someone will have a solution.

Mmmm.... unless you keep hitting the wrong key on the X10 keyboard, I don't see what the problem could be...

So your trying to access GMAIL correct? Can you choose a different keyboard? if no, than you need to type it very slowly so you can actually watch to ensure the character you think your typing is actually the one being typed. On all the keyboards so far, if you type slow enough, it will show you the character being typed.

The SE keyboard is a bug haven of glitches. Dump it as soon as possible, and the stock android is not much better. You can get other keyboards from the market for free, so it just takes your time, but not your coin...

Left field thought... you've not just changed from @googlemail to @gmail have you?

This caused problems with people signing into the android market. It keeps asking me at the top of my Gmail page if I want to change but I'm keeping it as it was cos I don't want to upset the apple cart on the phone.

If you have you need to clear your data in all the gmail apps in the Manage Applications part of the Settings Menu. Word of caution, make sure your contacts are saved to SD card because I'm sure if you are using Google Sync and not SE sync you lose them too. You may lose your apps from market too, but would think that's just a matter of reinstalling. Sorry if I sound vague, I haven't done it so going from memory of what I read elsewhere. Have a look at threads to do with Android Market not allowing sign in or password incorrect.

Just trying to get your problem straight in my head (forgive me its still early!) Are you saying you had the pattern lock on your phone and your friend locked the phone by inputting it wrong?

Are you now trying to gain access to your phone.... or can you get on to your phone and its your email that you are trying to access?

Ahh, ok first of all this little trick may or may not work... type in 'null' as your password.

If it doesn't then you are going to have to do a factory reset on the phone using Sony Ericsson Update Service, downloadable from their support website. This will wipe your phones contents so I hope you have your contacts backed up or synced somewhere! When you start the phone back up one of the first things is to set you Gmail account up on the phone. You can reinstall any apps from the market.

Also if you have the option, don't use the pattern lock.... I answer so many threads on it because its caused the same sort of problem.

There is no security value to it as the person who may steal your phone only has to look around the forum to know that you can clear the phone off with the update service. The only thing it does is stop your nosy friends looking at the phone and then messing you right up when they input the pattern wrong. Sorry just my opinion! That said if you are with American AT&T you have to keep it.

Anyway let us know how you get on.
