Notsure Text messages corrupt

I was just using my phone when the text messaging app crashed and force closed. When I rebooted, all my text / mms messages were gone

I have a backup from last month but when I try to restore it, it gets near the end then just gives up and no messages are restored.

I tried another backup I have with mybackuppro which also fails before the end with a message saying it can't access certain database entries and only restores messages up to August.

I think that the message database has become corrupted when it crashed. Is there a database file somewhere on the phone I can delete to stop the restore from failing?

I really don't want to do a full reset as I've only just finished setting up the phone from the OS upgrade!

Is it the stock text messaging app or 3rd party? if 3rd party, which app is it that you use?

Thanks for the quick reply. It's the standard X10 messaging app.
