When ever I use the HTC Mod keybaord 5-8 out of 15 sent messages will save themselves as Draft even if they have been sent.


I really miss the HTC keyboard but I have stopped using it because of this.

Better Keyboard 7,8 and the two default or pre installed keyboards don't do this... But I don't like 'em

Ideas ?

You followed these instructions step by step to install the HTC keyboard mod?

Are you using the default Messaging message system or have you loaded Handcent or some other messaging program you are having this problem with?

You an AT&T customer and have to load Android Sideload Wonder Maching like the step by step describes?

Make sure that you have both checked the HTC mod under Language and Keyboard AND you have it set under Input Method....not just one.

I have all the above correct. I have had this keyboard up and running since January I think...Maybe a little before or after... Either way there was Snow on the ground LOL.

This is a last month or so thing that just started happening.


I'm not a Download fanatic either, I don't DL every porn movie I have ever seen nor do I have any songs on this. I have not added any apps in the last 3 months except for Better Keyboard as a solution after this started. So I do not think it's a virus issue.

Now if it is some kind of bug is there any worth while scanners available ?

I should also mention that I have completely erased the APK and reuploaded it to my X10.

Oh crap....

Stock Messenger program on the Global 2.1 software.

Same phone since early 2011, I did all that a while ago.

Are you on AT&T? Or is the phone from AT&T?

You confirmed you have set the keyboard in both places?

You could try installing another messaging app (like Handcent) Or go through replacing both APK files....not just the one. Redownload both APK files and do it over again.

Make sure you DON'T have any sort of Task Manager installed. (remove it if you have one and test)

Not that I have ever heard of.

This probably happened after a little update...maybe not immediately after....but after and update and a restart when the keyboard is reloaded.

Resintalled the HTC APK awhile ago.

ATT Phone and on their signal.

No Task Managers of any kind.

I ditched Handcent after I could never stop the duplicate message notifier.

I have been using the HTC_IME keyboard since I first got my X10 last July, it was the one thing I missed on my X8 when that arrived and it wasn't available, altho I subsequently found it and then when I got my Neo last week I was straight on to XDA to see if someone had sorted it out for Gingerbread. I have to say that I have never had this issue on any three of the phones. I am running the stock SE rom but I do use Handcent never the stock app.

My X10 is a UK T-Mobile branded device but the X8 and Neo are both unbranded, unlocked world generic devices.

Be interesting to see if the same happens when you try a thirdparty SMS app like Handcent,

To disable the double notification you just need to go in to your message settings on the stock app and disable the notifications.

I like Handcent....use the other post Rosered if you want to try and go back to it.

There is more than just the one APK....there is the HTC apk and a clicker apk.....and being on AT&T, if you phone isn't rooted, there are more steps to go through outlined in that HTC step by Step post.

If you are using AT&Ts branded x10 you will be missing the ability to Allow Unknown Sources....so maybe you flashed and rooted.

FLashed 2.1 Rooted too.

I just have to send the HTC APK from the sticky above and then Install it. I can use unknown sources.

Do I need the HTC and the Clicky APK?

I have them both on my phone.

Delete the old HTC and Clicky.

Download the HTC and Clicky from here

[MOD] HTC_IME (8th June) v27: Small fix - xda-developers

Copy and install again. This may be a newer version than you had.
