Default Auto switching between Wifi & 3G.

Hi,

I have a bit of a problem with my Xperia X10i,the wifi when not in use will autoswitch off, apparently this is inbuilt into the 'phone's software?
I don't have a problem with that as such,my problem is when the wifi switches off my 3G connection is activated, which means I'm using up my data plan unnecessarily when I'm at home for example.
Anyone experienced this? And if so did you find a solution, failing that can anyone recommend a reliable app which can auto switch to wifi?
Thanks for your help.

SW.
