Are you running Android 2.1 or 2.3 on your x10?

Either way, you will need to download the Flashtool in order to root the phone.

2.1, super easy, just a couple click and a reboot.

With 2.3, it is a little more. More clicks and a couple phone restarts.

Both the instructions are under the Root section:

X10 - All Things Root - Android Forums

Let me know if you are 2.1 or 2.3 and I will provide you a more specific link or if you have any questions, don't hesitate in asking.

I am running 2.1 update 1, or thats what it says in the 'sysinfo' app, and i'm grateful for any help that I can get. The command line holds no fears for me as i use linux every day.
