I recently sold my X10 to a seller on eBay. Prior to the sale, the phone was working fine and was very recently officially updated to the promised 2.3 update via SEUS.
Since selling the buyer has claimed that the phone does not work - and provided evidence that it suffers the your sim card does not allow a connection to this network error. I offered to accept the phone back for checking.
Having received the phone, I now get the error too (on Orange UK, by the way) and have found various instructions to remedy - none of which work. As a last resort, I thought i'd try an update to the phone and see if that made any difference (although I was not expecting it to). However, the phone refuses to connect with SEUS, but does with a SE X10 Mini.
I have reinstalled SEUS, but to no avail. There is definitely something wrong, and something that was not wrong before the sale.
Since the phone is in warranty, I will see about a repair but this seems highly suspicious if you ask me... Is it possible that the buyer has somehow forced the fault onto the phone and in the process gimped communication between the X10 and SEUS?
When doing a factory reset using PC Companion, you lose your MMS settings.
Open Settings->Wireless->Mobile-> APN
Is there an APN listed or is this page blank?
If blank, that is your problem.
If it is filled out, verify the settings with your providers settings. Google x10 mms settings Orange UK or whoever your provider is.
Under Mobile Networks, select your network provider too.
If you still can't connect using a data connection, you might want to consider doing a reset again. And make sure after you reinstall using PC Companion, that your then do a Factory Reset on the phone itself.
