Question Bluetooth error - turns on and off

So when i startup my phone the bluetooth turns on. Then it turns off.
And on and off and it keeps doing so.
How should i fix it? I tried restarting and letting it be for a while.
It started like a week after i got the phone and it started when i was about to send something with bluetooth.
I use xperia X8
Thanks

Hey man,you posted it twice! :P

This bluetooth issue is unusual behavior indeed.
Whats the software in your phone?
You can check the version in
Settings=>About Phone.
Post here what you see for a start!

Well, my phone is swedish so i'm not sure what you asked for, so i'll post everything that might be relevant:
It's android 2.1-update 1
It's Swedeb 3G and it has UMTS network.
The model number is E15i
Kernel-versoin is 2.6.29
Revision number is 2.0.1.A.0.47
If there's anything more needed, just tell me.
PS. i dontknow how to delete topics so i cant delete the other.
The reason i double posted this was because the window got stuck so i opened another one and posted in a forum that more people see (this one), sorry.

Don't worry the double post has been taken care of. I wonder if running a repair via Sony Ericsson Update Service would help resolve the issue if it is a software problem. This will wipe your phone so make sure you have backed up your contacts etc.

The other thing that might help is downloading the Bluetooth File Transfer app, its weird cos you shouldn't need it but I have helped a user with this suggestion in the past and it kind of forced the bluetooth to 'behave' ie switch on and off when it is supposed to.

I downloaded the app, but nothing happened.
Then i tried opening it (it's swedish translated, and like a comment said, the translator should be keelhauled) and it asked if i wanted to enable bluetooth. And then it closed itself and asked if i wanted to enable bluetooth. And so on and so on. No matter if i press enable or the other option (badly translated), it wont work.
And i'm not sure it's a good idea to wipe my phone, as i have stuff that i want to still be on there (app related, dont think i can back them up).
If i can backup the entire phone, how would i do that? (off topic)
Well the main focus if still the bluetooth going apesh*t.

Each of your apps that has data attached should allow you to backup to SD card so that you can then restore it when you reinstall them. You can also use Appbrain app to keep a list of your installed apps... download the app from the market and register online.

I don't know what else to suggest other than doing a repair to try and resolve the software control of the bluetooth function on your phone. You could always contact your carrier / retailer to get it looked at under warranty, as long as you have the original pruchase receipt and bought it within the EU you should be ok.

OK, so bit of noob warning here, but the save files are at the SD card right?
As it's android 2.1 it cant put apps to SD, so the apps will go poof when i try to fix it.
When i reinstall, it will be like before, right?
And i guess this question's obvious answer is "no", but should i remove the SD card while i try the fix?
And i have no contacts, so i dont think i need to backup, and all i got for SMS is 14 SMS-bombings and a happy new year wish.

The apps will go but you can easily re-download them. Which ones are you worried about losing? If I have an idea about what you may lose then I might be able to give more specific information.

I have never removed my SD card when repairing or updating. The backup files for apps or the phone do go on the SD card.

OK, now i'm pissed off (i feel like cursing a LOT, but i'll keep it to a minimum =P )
So the F-kin bluetooth suddendly decided to stop going apesh*t. I thought, hmm maybe it got bored. And i see bluetooth was turned off, so i tried activating it. I said "activating" or whatever, then it just goes back and nothing happens.
In short, now i cant turn the damn thing on.
Is there a know fix for not being able to turn it on, other than what has already been talked about?
I suddendly realised it might be a hacker that got into my phone (which it turned out tno to be, as i'm in my house running phone on wifi, but if it was a hacker he'd have to use internet, thus draining my 511 mb that i get at the start of every month).

OK mad left field suggestion, have you tried taking the battery out, wait 30 seconds and then putting back in. This will force it in to a hard reset - may or may not help.

The other thing is try it out on your test menu... from the unlock screen, dont unlock but press

Home Back Back Home
Back Home HOme Back

then select Service Tests and find bluetooth and tap on it and see what happens.

The service menu won't erase anything at all. It's quite interesting in there in fact!

Removing the battery shouldn't do anything other than switching it off, think about rebooting a computer when it does something strange... just makes it start everything up properly (well thats the hope anyway).

First i tried service menu and then it said Enable Bluetooth.
Then i removed battery, blew at it a little and put it back in.
Then bluetooth started going apesh*t again.
Then i tried service menu again and it said Enable BluetoothOK
Test stopped.
Seems like i got no choice but to try the fix, right?

seems more of a hardware issue
contact ur service center and if they can get ur phone replaced
why compromise? exploit the warranty

Yeah, i got i like a week ago, so this shouldnt happen (it should happen the day after the warranty expires).
Might as well try everything possible before i have it fixed by sony ericsson.
I'll try it tomorrow, so if anyone has any bright ideas, might as well post them while i'm sleeping ^^
And thanks for all your help

Joking aside,I still think its hardware related.

If I were you I d try these steps:

1.Hard Reset. Nothing to lose if you have no contacts.
2.SEUS Repair. Nothing to lose,too.
3.Re flash it with 1.6 amd then update normally to 2.1 again.

I m telling you thins cos somehow I got confused about what you ve tried so far.Ask for whatever you need to know/clarify!
