Not waking up after charging
I have used my tablet a lot since I purchased it in February without any issues. Since I have upgraded to ICS though, it does not like to wake up when it is on the charger. After charging over night for the past two days, I have had to hit the reset button on the side in order to get it to restart and wake up.
The green light is flashing on the side with the power button, but it will not wake up.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Yep - exact same problem here. Google Play also force closes.
the update hasnt been made available in Canada yet, would you recommend me updating it when it does? sounds like you are having some issues. also can you confirm if it is 4.0.0 or 4.0.3 that Sony has released?

I've got 4.0.3, and while I love ICS on my phone, it is NOT working reliably on my tablet, unfortunatley.

I recharged it overnight (about 9 hours) in the cradle. This morning it started up just fine/fast like normal.
That Fruit Ninja was crashing here and there - i had to force close/report it like 3 times last night. It was during the start-up or ending, but not in the middle of the game.
I had the same problem with google play force closing after the update. I went in to apps and uninstalled the google play update. When I went back and opened google play it updated the app again and it has been fine since.

Not waking up after charging
I am not sure what caused the initial issue, but after the first couple of mornings when I had to reset the tablet because it would not wake up, i have not any issues.
I would like to know how to put more (or different) apps on the hot key slot at the bottom of the screen. I have not looked for instructions yet, but have not been able to change these.
Overall my experience is getting better with ICS. I have friends that bought the Galaxy about the same time I purchased my Sony and they are regretting their decision now. My Sony does everything theirs can do and plays PS games.

As to the Hot Key it is annoying that the hot key useless button is unchangeable.
I upgraded mine yesterday and found that I really like the differences in the look of things. I also think it's great that you can now swipe notifications and recent activity out of the list. Overall, I will like it once the glitches are worked out a bit.
I've had a lot of force closes, notably with gmail. Yesterday it forced closed constantly on me. Today I have been able to use it once. The keyboard has had a few of the same (it has force closed 3 times while I've typed this), and where did the period go? Is it just me or do we now have a question mark where the period was and need to hit ABC to finish a sentence? I'm going to download a new keyboard.
All of my add ons are not working with my dolphin browser as well, and it was force closing on me too, though not as badly.
The icons at the bottom of the screen are promising if we could figure out how to change them...
I haven't had any complaints, it is at least better than the Honeycomb OS in every respect. I don't use mine on the charger, though, so I can't comment on that.
Wifi reconnects more reliably on wake
Built in video player supports way more formats, no need for Rock Player anymore
Remote widget is great, and much faster than the app, though I wish you could configure which buttons are on it
Launcher is much smoother, it actually feels like high-end CPU hardware now
Built in browser is faster and has more options like displaying desktop version of a page (wish you could keep it on)
And of course all the nice UI updates ICS brings. More drag-to-do-something actions, like in email, notification bar, multitask bar, etc. Slightly nicer keyboard. Easy screenshots. Way more system and usage info, etc.
Netflix plays fine for me, though the UI is unbelievably unresponsive sometimes.
I have the update on the uk version too. Much like tje above comments I have experienced a complete lockout n charge and have to use reset to wake up and also not impressed with the lack of cusimise options for the quick launch bar. Sony really need to open their eyes to what people want, it's not bugs!!!
really really unhappy with the update.
first impression was good, it has a bit more spring and zip to it.
but its killed or injured most of my favorite apps.
netflix now struggles to play a stream first go, and some stop, go into eternal buffer or go green. the UI also has become very unresponsive.
simcity simply doesn't load.
angry birds space occasionally goes purple or quits.
several news apps don't work quite right, worst being IGN's which crashes on launch.
given thats pretty much all i use my tablet s for - it's a disaster for me.
ICS has literally taken a product I was really very happy with and made it seem like a complete waste of money. maybe the onus is with the app developers to make their products work with the new OS, but that doesn't help me.
Not very tech savvy - but would a factory reset take me back to the original operating system version (2 something i think) ? I'm desperate to go back. is there any way?
I wonder if you try a factory reset, and then re-install your apps, see if that fixes it? I don't have any issues with Netflix streaming, nor with Angry Birds Space. I've never played Sim City and don't read a lot of news, though.
I don't believe you can get back to Honeycomb 3.1 once you've updated the device.

Will not wake up from sleep mode
Well after I posted a couple weeks ago that my tablet had not failed to wake up from sleep mode for a while, it did it one more time. Now it is sitting in a box waiting for Fed Ex to pick it up and take it in for "repairs". I am not saying that it is a problem with ICS, but I did not have any issues with this tablet until after I upgraded. In fact, I laughed at and mocked most of my friends that bought other tablets.
I hope no one else is having this issue, maybe it is just a hardware issue, but who knows. The Sony rep would not tell me if other people have had the same issue that I had. Here is hoping they fix it quickly. I am already going through with-drawls.
If they ever tell me what the problem was, I will update this post.

Last week I updated to ICS in India .It is working fine and UI has become better. Now I dont need to transfer files from SD card first to view them.

Hi, newbie to the site but just wanted to vent my frustration!! I am having the same problems as above. ^
I upgraded to ICS on the day of release (31/5/12 in the UK) and now my tablet is ruined.
The GUI is constantly becoming unresponsive
Angry birds space keeps crashing
The keyboard is always 5-10 characters behind me when I'm typing
The mini docked remote is useless as you cant change the buttons - for my sky remote it only shows on/off, program up/down and input. There is more space for the buttons I use such as guide, play, record, etc but I cant add them
The add to desktop feature has gone from the top so you have to scroll through the app list menu
The text input and selections have gone blue like an Iphone not green.
Battery life has decreased
Really annoyed I jumped on the band wagon and updated to ICS.
/rant
On the plus side, the settings menu is nice.
In short do not get ICS!! Stay with Gingerbread. This one is going back to sony now as it is clearly faulty immediately following the update.
Are those of you that are having problems with your tablet while charging using the cradle? I have had very few problems with ICS, although I am curious about Netflix because I have spent very little time on it since the upgrade.

I finally received my tablet back. The paperwork they sent me shows that it was a bad mother board and nothing to do with ICS. It was just a coincidence that I had upgraded at the same time I started having problems. (Or so they say)
And to answer jbenham, i was not using the cradle. Since I am using a rooCase, my tablet does not fit in the cradle. I just plug it in directly.

This happened to me before ICS. I called Sony and they said to shut it down completely before charging.
No more resets so far...
I bought my device about 4 weeks ago and ICS was already installed on my device and over the past few weeks I have had to reset it maybe 3-4 times, but other than that I have not had a single problem.
I am in the UK and mine has gone back to Sony too. They said it needs a new motherboard. I updated to ics with no problem at all. Everything worked until the second update, the one for the sd card and some other bug fix. It bricked it and android failed to load.

We are lucky, one reset as it wouldn't wake up from sleep mode, that was a couple of weeks ago, its been used about three hours a day since and we have had no other issues and we are very pleased with the performance.
We have had the tablet since before the JB update and that went smoothly.
