I am having problems with my Gmail app on my sony tablet s with ICS.

For the last week my Gmail app has been either slow or becoming unresponsive when downloading emails. When i go to my home screen and back into it has a black a screen. I have to actually force stop it and restart it to see my emails. It is then either slow or i cannot read new emails.

I have uninstalled and still same problem.

Any ideas of what could be the problem
