Your definitely right about that. The phone looks great. I wonder what those three dots are below the screen... The light bar also seems to have a triangle of some sort off to the right side, wonder if that has any functionality. Thanks for the posts.
I have an early upgrade now, or I can wait until March to upgrade my wife and I's phones at the same time, will probably wait around to see if this or any other phones are launching near that window.

Sorry to say but so far that phone is only rumors. There is no official info in the SE page nor on the blog page if that phone will really be released. Those pictures online and the one a couple of posts above surely looks nice though.
That second photo is the Xperia Arc /S. Which I have and love. Looks like AT&T is getting this as the Ion, slightly larger but basically the same phone. I do hope Sony releases this unlocked and unbranded in the United States as I hate hate carrier branding on phones, whether physically on the phone or in the software.
The phone is only dual core. It will not come to the US. The Ion is coming to the US and adds a bigger screen, and LTE, and loses the transparent band.
Does anyone know if/when/where these phones will be available to buy unlocked?

It is availbale for pre order from Negri Electronics for $634.5 with a ship date of 3/9/12
my phone came into the US here in Texas.
Since it is an unlocked phone, my Verizon 4G carrier might not be compatible with this phone. I've talked with a Verizon rep, and he says its not possible to put a 4G micro sim into the Xperia S.
I've cut up my old 4G LTE sim card and test fit it into the Xperia, and it won't recognize the sim

U might get it to work on AT&T or Tmobile but not verizon.
verizon uses voice/3G for cdma so international versions (GSM) doesnt work.

I dont think the phone is LTE. it works great for me on AT&T. its only on hsdpa not lte.
The Sony Xperia S doesn’t differ too much from the Ion: it features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12MP Exmor R camera sensor, and a 720p display, only here it is 4.3-inches in size. If it looks familiar, it’s because we have seen this... Read More
