No probs Gabby, I'll think I'll stick with buymobiles. On a side note has anyone read anywhere if Sony are pre-sticking on the screen protectors on the S like they did for some of their other Xperia's? Because that would be friggin sweet.

My one and only concern about the Xperia S is the touch sensitive buttons just above the transparent element...there have been some reports of them being very much hit and miss, as stated on the Xperia blog.
when are they expected to release this? and where is the cheapest deal to get one sim free. all ive seen so far is that its expected to be released on the 27th of march.

Hmmm....will they even be used when the S gets ICS? Also don't a lot phones have a touch sensitive section on the bottom eg Sensation XE?
ICS on screen buttons are optional, so if the phone already has soft buttons they surely won't use on screen buttons, it wouldn't make any sense.

The cheapest sim free I could find shipped (to the US) is Handtec, and they're expecting to start shipping next week.

Just an update: I rang Buymobiles and the lady said that for O2 they are getting their delivery on Tuesday 6th March, to despatch asap. I'll wait a few more days then and see if they can deliver by mid next week.
I'm back in the room! I couldn't resist so re-ordered the s in white from clove. Still got the Htc one x on pre-order mind but the Sony was too good not to try.
If in a month I still want the Htc then I will try both for a few days and then put one of them on eBay!

Ordered the white one from Clove too. Hopefully they will have delivery on Monday so I can have it by Tuesday/Wednesday. I hate all this waiting, especially as it has now been released.

It's rather annoying as the white version is available from phones4u NOW at £399.
It's annoying that it looks as though we're going to have to wait a few more days, but at least reviews are appearing. I know it'll be an awesome phone, but it's nice to see reviews before the product is released rather than after.
Amazon are now saying the 12th and Play are no longer saying pre-order and are saying it'll be despatched in 1-2 weeks.

I just hope it's not further delayed come next Monday. It's hard enough waiting another week when it looked very likely they were going to be shipped out this week.

Just got this email from buymobiles:
Thanks for your order. You have passed our initial security check and your order is ready for processing however your Sony Xperia S is not in stock at the moment.
We expect it to be available again within 10-15 working days, so we are going to temporarily hold-off from processing your credit check until it is back in stock.
As soon as it arrives we will process your order, send you an email, and ship your phone for next-day delivery.
Kind regards

Crap, I'd called them today too at 5.20pm and up to then all was still go.
my mate works for phone4u and he was saying they have it but they cant release it until the 13th. So id say it would be the same for the rest of the online traders.

The Sony Xperia S doesn’t differ too much from the Ion: it features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12MP Exmor R camera sensor, and a 720p display, only here it is 4.3-inches in size. If it looks familiar, it’s because we have seen this... Read More
