Pre-ordered!
Pre-ordered from buymobiles yesterday on O2 £25.50 month (100 mins, 500 texts and 1gb internet) and free phone!!
Cannot wait to get my hands on this beauty, not concerned about the upcoming SGS3, IP5 and the rest, I'm sure they'll be awesome specs but I'm sick of my IP4 and i'm not willing to risk another Samsung with crappy battery life.
I almost pulled the trigger on a Nexus yesterday and although it was lovely it was just a little too big for my liking and it just didn't impress me as a flagship should.
I'll be getting it on the £21.50 a month contract. It amazes me. It's such a good phone and it's free. The total cost at the end of the contract for me will be £516. For an iPhone 4S 64GB on a £21.50 a month contract the phone itself costs more than the total Xperia S cost (£520) and then there's the total contract of £516 to add on. That's £1036 for a phone!
I don't usually let cost dictate the phone I get, but at more than double the cost for an inferior spec phone, it's an easy choice.
Can't wait for it. Were you given a release date or is it still early March?

I have ordered the white version sim-free from Clove, with 4 NFC smart-tags included in the price.
I am looking so forward to getting my hands on this device. From some of the videos that I have seen the software, new Sony widgets and that pin sharp screen is to die for.

Ooh where did you find this deal? I've seen Fones 4 U doing pre-orders and Orange have it up for £28 per month (with free phone)
I'm amazed that they're doing this phone for such a cheap contract! I was expecting everywhere to have the phone for a minimum of £30 per month!

Hey guys and girls,
No, no date was given but from reading every review and watching all the youtubes, I have got 2 dates, either as late as mid March or from this article:
Angelus, how did you get it for £21.50?! Jeez that is cheap, I get a discount through work at Orange and Vodafone but not 02 unfortunately, I'm currently with T-Mobile and they stated that it would be around mid £30's.

Keep us updated. I am still hopeful I will get mine in white from around the 5th March.
I ordered mine on the £28pm orange tariff 4 days ago and just got this email from P4U:

Thanks again for placing your order with Phones 4u.
Well pleased. The watch retails at £100 on its own!
I got the X10i when it first came out and loved it, I was furious when the 2.2 froyo update kept on getting delayed but it got sorted in the end! What made me buy Sony again was their customer service.
About 2 months ago the phone started playing up, I phoned orange who said there was nothing they could do as it was outside of their warranty. But what I didn't know was all sony phones from the xperia on, come with 24 month warranty. I phoned sony sent the phone to them by freepost and it was back as good as new with a whole new front panel in 3 days.
This and the camera is why I am buying Sony again.

I saw that p4u offer but I didn't want to cancel my buymobiles pre-order and then not get the free watch, I'll stick with them for now and think about getting a smartwatch later, there's a few about now

All my other phones have been black so due a change.
If it looks too girlie then I will just be in touch with my feminine side!
Ordered the white one from Clove too. I don't see the white one looking that girlie and I'm a bloke too. The black one just looks rather bland in comparison to the white.

don't be dissing my black Xperia S!
Seriously though after checking out many of my friends white ip4's, they don't work as a white phone imo. But the Xperia S, I have to admit if I had the choice now, I'd possibly choose the white. But since I'm probably going to keep the phone for up to 24 mths I'm going to be covering the phone in some sort of case anyhow.
I got a little worried about my S pre-order when Sony just announced the Xperia P at MWC. Fortunately it sits in between the S and U with a 4" screen and 8mp camera. I'll stick with the full spec S.

I have to say the Xperia P looks very nice with it's aluminum body and the new 'magicwhite' technology, but I still have no regrets buying the Xperia S.
Sony have announced that the Xperia Ion will be released in the UK. Although the specs are fairly similar to the S, a 4.6 inch screen is a little too big for me.

They possibly didn't know themselves and still don't know, when I used to work in a IT reseller we sometimes never got confirmed eta's for the new and upcoming equipment. I emailed buymobiles too and got a reply next day, just suppose luck of the draw sometimes.
Just on a side note, I'm very interested in the Huawei Ascend D Quad, doesn't look half as nice but the power (assuming the figures haven't been 'amended') and rest of the specs are very enticing.

Reason: meant D Quad not D1
The HTC ONE x looked very nice.. but the price and the camera lets it down.
The sony S looks fab , that and the screen etc.. + 32 GB all for under 400 quid.. cant go wrong!.. BTW buy it sim fee in amazon.de .. it's about 40 quid cheaper
ICS will be nice when it comes, but I don't get all the moaning. Personally I'd like an OS that has been around with enough time for all the bugs and issues to have been identified and resolved (iOS 5 made my iPhone almost unusable). I'm sure people will be moaning this winter when phones come out with ICS once Jelly Bean has been released.
exactly angelus me too its bound to be full of bugs on first release let them get it sorted first
thats a good deal jase-although i remember pre ordering my desire hd with them as they had the first release date-unfortunately they kept putting it back every few days so i cancelled in the end we'll see if they get it in-theyre claiming to be the first to have it on contract jsut like they did last time

The Sony Xperia S doesn’t differ too much from the Ion: it features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12MP Exmor R camera sensor, and a 720p display, only here it is 4.3-inches in size. If it looks familiar, it’s because we have seen this... Read More
