I bought the original one as was only £15 on play, for that it's not bad, connected ok and some good little apps for it, don't use it like a watch though, mainly for car as use it as a remote for my phone over Bluetooth, so you can leave it in your pocket.

Yeah I have seen the first one for sale on play.com and amazon, but the new one is out now and claims to be loads better.

Just wanted to know if anyone had bought one for an honest user review.

Do you mean the Smartwatch?

I have one - it is an expensive toy...the screen is a bit small for even my smaller fingers and wrists, as you require a simultaneous tap with 2 fingers on that 1" screen to go "back" out of apps. Also, forget about seeing it in moderate light outdoors. Or maybe mine is defective. You just can't see it at all.

Other than that, it is neat but not too many apps out for it. I wish there was a remote control app for the camera (that works) as well as an app for Whatsapp but other than that it is pretty fun I guess. There is a 3rd party solution but I found that it only works some of the time.

I would say that the major disappointment is the display's visibility outdoors. Also, although internet documentation says you can answer the phone with the watch and use the bluetooth to take the call, I could not get this to happen. The watch seems to override the voice module of bluetooth, and I have a Sony MW600. Also the watch turns itself on if you shake your wrist. An undocumented feature or bug...? I bought it for Endomondo really but it's goofy if you can't read it in sunlight and also the watch turns itself on by itself while you are running...

Hope that helps

**update: sorry, you CAN still use another bluetooth headset to take the call even though the Smartwatch is also connected. My MW600 was controlling the other paired device which wasn't in range.

Sony Xperia S
Current Rating:
Rate this Phone:

The Sony Xperia S doesn’t differ too much from the Ion: it features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12MP Exmor R camera sensor, and a 720p display, only here it is 4.3-inches in size. If it looks familiar, it’s because we have seen this... Read More
