I worked this out and it's a bit complicated but easy to learn.

Run Google Search.
Select any of the previous websites at bottom of screen.
Pull down from top, reveal three bars second from right, and press.
Press three dots on right
Select History
Choose today or what you want.
Press Star to right of Website you want
Choose Add to and select desktop or home screen or whatever it's called.

There you go!
