Hey am amit i bought sony xperia U 6 days ago.i cannot connect to the internet using wifi but i can connect to the internet by subscribing to the net pack of the service provider.In the wireless settings it says connected to MGMNT(router name) but when I open the browser it say connection timed out.It was working on the first day this problem started when i connected the phone to pc n installed sony pc companion.I tried to update the software even that isn't working

I'm also facing the same problem all of a sudden. Since Yesterday I am not able to browse on mobile. Wifi shows it is connected but all application that require internet are not working at all. Google Play says timeout... Please help and tell me what went wrong.. that too all of sudden ....

My phone has latest update and i've tried searching for answers everywhere .

same problem here. just got my fone yesterday. all is well at first, until i installed pc companion then update my fone. update done, problem is after restart, it fail to connect on the wifi/router i used to update my fone. but when i try to connect on other router, like on my cousin's and friend's, it works fine. just this one router i commonly use esp. when i'm home. this is a big problem for me. pls help us solve this. any tips out there that we can try are highly appreciated. Tnx!

What i understand from all forum posts all over the internet it has either to do with the latest software version or with the type of wifi security your network is using...

Hey guys I had posted this question myself now I figured out what the problem was....it was the windows firewall...when I switched on the laptop...I wasn't able to connect to the internet using Wi-Fi...to use the Wi-Fi in xperia u while the laptop is on turn off the firewall till u use the Wi-Fi in ur mobile..or in the list of allowed devices include your xperia u mobile...try this it might work ..if it still doesn't work go to google play n download Wi-Fi analytics app and connect to the Wi-Fi through this app..it connects to the best possible network available judging on the signal strength ...I did this in my xperia u it worked me please post responses so that I ll know if it worked for others

hi all, can anyone help me, i brought the xperia u 6 days ago, and everytime i go for turn the wifi on my mobile turns its self off and then on, it is driving me up the wall, i also did an update, installed sony companion is it some thing to do with this thanks

It may be obvious but....
Turn WiFi on on the phone while standing near the WiFi router. then, if your router is in the list of WiFi SSIDs found by the phone, select yours and enter your WPA2 PSK password (You *DO* have a password, right?) then, barring an update from Sony which breaks WiFi on the phone, or an actual fault on the phone, you should be good to go.

Another thought: Can you connect to your WiFi with another phone/tablet and/or can your Xperia U connect to another WiFi SSID OK?

A good tool for assessing WiFi signal strength and which channels are in use id InSSIDer, it's a well-respected wireless admin tool. And free!
