It's hard to top the performance of BO and honestly, there's nothing I'd change about it (other than the boot animation, maybe), but I'm looking forward to seeing how your kernel does with the rom. Are you undervolting like the blitz kernel?

When this Rom is released, see if you get random reboots. if you don't then its the kernel that's makes the reboots in B.O.

I got random reboots on stock, so I don't know if the kernel is going to matter. I have fewer on Blitzkrieg than I do popcorn...

I also unfortunately got reboots with BO. Not sure what it was, if it was the software I had on it conflicted with the OS or what. I use the same exact software on stock though, with no reboots, except when my crappy battery dies. I thought at first it was the CPU overclocking, but even keeping it at 1.5 didn't help. My thoughts are possibly the GPU overclocking was causing it? Maybe just some thoughts for your ROM, maybe release one each, with and without overclocking. I personally am just content with the speed of the hardware not overclocked, just the stock OS sucks. I am not trying to troll or anything, in fact I loved the look of BO especially with Eclipse, but just something was causing reboots a lot. It seemed to be crashing when running the browser on sites like this (heavy in terms of amount of media) or playing jelly defense. Just 2 cents, looking forward to wiping my phone again! Although, what happens when ICS beats your ROM to release? Unless you're using the ICS leak?

I've gotten a lot of reboots on BO as well. Reflashed back and forth from stock 4-5 times and spent many hours trying to figure it out. One thing I did notice recently was that my phone temp would never get over 104F with BO before it would reset. Even on days where the ambient temp was nearly the same. It would reboot a lot at those times. I would finally just stcij the phone in the air conditioner vent to cool it down. On stock rom I've never had a reboot. I've seen temps up to 107F. Yes it does get hot. Lots of possibilities could cause this but it was a consistent issue. Another note. I've done some looking into logcat and mentally compared the amount of errors I got in BO to stock. It seems I get more errors in stock. Another note. When clearing the davolick cache I always get the error "SD ext/ not found" I'm civil engineer by trade but fool around with electronics a lot...just enought to be dangerous as they say...hope this helps

as stated in the OP, he is just using B.O. as a base and adding nhis own custom kernel.

Yea, for your issue, it was most likely app-related, not an overheat issue. It appears this phone has reboots either from overheating or app conflicts.

PlayfulGod,
I feel weird flashing your Rom and not donating but once again my wife is out of work so, right now, I can't donate. I did throw ya a little something to help ya get your device though...as soon as I can set aside some dough I'll send it your way.

I'm not suggesting others don't wipe all data, however I'd like to report that prior to flashing I just wiped caches cause I wanted to keep all my as apps in tact. so far no issues to report. the only reason I tried this is because PG used broken out add a base for this ROM. the black plague seems to run smooth for me oc@1.8 and 192 with on demand. nice work pg.

Ay PG you should make a stock rom with deodexed and debloated and put the plague kernel. I have thee plague kernel running on stock it is much smoother, just wish it was deodexed and debloated.

Wiped several times, installed and got my apps back on it. First time I opened up tapatalk I got the cardock app thing open and close everything else that was running. I've yet to delete it, but it hasn't come up again, so far. Loving the quickness, put out on smartass about 20 mins ago. Not noticing anything different or lag. Nice PG, thanks.

definitely pretty smooth play. I'm just running xperia for now so I've yet to see how it runs holo which will be the true test because though holo runs decent on our phone it's just not quite as smooth as it should be.

I rarely wipe data myself, thats just a standard install step and usually is what will fix many issues if there are any

Holo works great for me so far. Looks like it's using less ram too.

No issues with overheating... Quite the contrary, actually.

Yea mrB I just loaded up holo and it's running msoother than i've ever seen it run.

I have a question though. I'm getting black screens while using my phone. In the middle of doing stuff the screen goes black and the soft keys stay lit up. I have to hit my power button twice to get back to my lock screen to use the phone again. Anyone else experiencing this? I've never had it happen before until now. It's done it about 5 times and 4 of those in a 10 minute period.

I was running eclipse with the blitz kernel for about a week, with very minimal reboots, by using the smartass v2 governor and underclocking to 1296. Don't really notice much if any of a performance drop. I flashed the new plague kernel about two hours ago, using the same settings with no issues or reboots yet. Give it a shot, you may be pleasantly surprised

Maybe once we get ICS you will be able to run a custom rom.

Why don't you give VZW tech support a call, tell them it keeps rebooting and get a new one. Sounds like you have a funk device. Once you get the new one, have someone walk you through putting on the recovery and ROM. Just so you know you aren't skipping a step.
