MrB206: what version of googlesearch are you using? If its part of gapps, I'm using the one from 12-12-2012.
FWIW, Google voice search is working for me on the latest AOKP42 preview build with the latest Google Search from the play store. I know there was at least cone update offered after installing 121212 when I checked the store.

Yeah, Google voice search/typing was crashing for me until I updated it thru the Play Store.
What do you mean by " allowing multiples"? I can set different tones, but there's only 1 option for each that installed with the ROM.
I just looked again and noticed all the ringtones and notifications I have are ones previously downloaded and saved on my sdcard... So I only have 1 of each in the rom as well.
...sorry

No worries, just wasn't sure what you meant I also didn't notice right away cause I have ones saved to my sdcard as well...

Fixed my voice input issues - I needed to update google search but it wouldn't update because the update wasn't compatible... because I changed the screen density. I reset the density and cleared cache and got the update. Now it works

Does anyone know where photosphere is in the 4.2 camera.
I guess it turns out we need drivers to run it and therefore it's not likely we'll ever see it on the Spectrum. I reckon that's why it's not included in AOKP or CM being that it will most likely not work on most phones.
I don't know... I saw an article where they had photo sphere running on the p970 so it might show up yet. Note the p970 is omap3 not msm, I don't know if that matters.
Personally I don't have a use for it, its just a gimmick that I'd never use. A cool and shiny one though.
Not sure if this is where this goes, but can anyone of you helpful folk point me to TOT recovery instructions? I seem to have bricked my video pretty well and a CAB flash did not bring me back. As far as I can tell, this was due to trying to flash a custom boot animation in AOKP42 preview 2/28. I've pulled files from Joel Perry's (remember that guy? still out there Joel?) LGNPST-restore file repo, but I've never done a TOT recovery. Worth a shot? Anyone have a step-by-step/guide handy?
Thanks in advance
Also open to other suggestions... Phone does show the LG logo (twice, like normal) during boot... then plays LG/VZW start up chime. From that point on, the screen is blank. If I power it down and plug in to a wall charger, it does have video for the charging animation. Ideas? Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...

Is photospere just a big panoramic picture? Because I can do that on mine. It takes a bunch of pictures and puts them together.
There's a few apps on the market that can do that. Plus I read somewhere that lg had tweaked the photosphere and will be adding it to the optimus g. If they haven't already updated it. Maybe that one could be made to work on the spectrum

True story

no it's not just a big panoramic picture. It will take a 360 degree picture of your whole surrounding area. That is to the left, right, before, behind, above, and below you. Then you can actually view the picture in the gallery in 360 view mode where you can scroll around the picture as if you were standing there. For example; say you were on a mountain top, and you took a photosphere photo of all your surroundings, everything your eyes see in all directions will be recorded into picture form, and stitched together just as you see them; rather than being stretched out like a typical panorama photo, photosphere actually keeps the natural look and gives you the same perspective as if you were still standing on the mountain top.
I disagree with tdm that it's merely a gimmick, because I think it actually has practical, useful, and functional applications. Not to mention that it's pretty swell technology.
I hope this better explains photosphere for you. As far as I know there is nothing in the market that can do what photosphere does. If there is then someone please hook me up with a link because I'd love to have it.

Probably best to make this a new topic, but, sorry to say I have only done .cab restores. All of the files on my website, except where noted are from the pages of thus forum, and should have a link from the blog post to the corresponding thread on Android forums.
The restore process for .tot if it is somewhere, I have not seen it, nor will I provide the .tot files.
As for where I have been, I've been right here, nothing new on the website (except .cab files and some tools files), due to multiple cease and desist letters received, in regards to everything released since ICS.

tdm: I replaced the full boot.img with the one from your Quattrimus rom. No change. The screen still doesn't turn off. It must be something in the init files in the iprj-common tree.

Did you have to wipe all and factory reset or just dirty flash? I'm on your beta 4 cm10.1.
You should know the answer to that by now. It's your phone do what you think is best, but don't report issues until after you test with a full wipe. It's unlikely there would be issues coming from one of my recent CM10.1 builds but you never know.
I run AOKP so I did a backup, full wipe, install. Then I played with it for a bit to verify the screen turned off etc., and restored my backup (had to enable those pesky advanced reboot options to get to recovery... not liking that).

Announcing Quattrimus: JB for the LG "iproj" family (Nitro, Spectrum, etc.)
* Make a backup of your current system (use the tar method!)
* Do a full wipe / factory reset.
Hello guys- new here from Icyfusion. TDM- first off - big thanks for working on this (I'm about to try your stuff!!) Could someone pls. post the links to do these below per TDM's install instructions:
* Make a backup of your current system (use the tar method!)
* Do a full wipe / factory reset.

I think I'll give this a try - coming from ICYFusion 3.4; Can I just wipe data/dalvik in CWM and then flash CM10.1 AOKP42 zip ?
wipe data/cache/dalvik
install CM10.1 / AOKP42 zip
install gapps for 4.2 Goo.im Downloads - Browsing gapps This is also done inside of CWM. You do it after you flash the rom. If you forget it's not a big deal, just reboot back into recovery and flash gapps.

there are no links. Both of those are done inside of CWM
You make the backup under backup in CWM. You choose the tar method under the same section where you make the backup.
Full wipe means wipe all three things...data/cache/dalvik
there are no links. Both of those are done inside of CWM /cache/dalvik
thanks man :0 much appreciated.
Also, on a side note, I never quiet understood why some launcher functions/features are inherently tied to nature of ROMs (like ICS, GB, JB etc.) but if I download an android app from market- it works in all the versions regardless.
The Following User Says Thank You to office399 For This Useful Post:
Also IMUC..when do I redo the OTA block flash - or do I do it at all, since I did it before ICYfusion 3.4 ?
You don't need it on these. For the launchers, they've just figured it how to accomplish some of those so called ROM features from within the launcher app.

Because a lot of launchers are built around whatever version of android the dev decides.. Built for newer versions may have tweaks or options that just won't work with older versions of android. Apps seem to be a lot more universal to android version.
