Congrats to Li Na! First ever Asian tennis player to make the finals. That post-match interview was absolutely hilarious! Best of luck in the finals! I will be cheering for you!

What about Anna Kournikova? She even has a poker hand named after her.
Well, it looks like I can watch both finals stress free. I like both women's finalists and don't really care for either men's finalists. I tend to guess really stressed if I really want one player to win and not the other. I'm more relaxed if I don't really care who wins.
I believe what he was saying is that Nadal faked his injury because he was playing poorly and that takes away from Ferrer's victory because it makes it look like he didn't earn his spot or truly beat the # 1 player.
But Nadal was injured in the second game of the first set so I don't see how that is possible or why he would fake it in the very beginning of the match.
He almost had the Rafa Slam too - he wouldn't have sacrificed that by faking an injury. That would have been a huge piece of history and remembered forever.

I saw the match and can tell you that the winner has two "rr"s in his last name.

I guess you were fortunate that I didn't mention any names in my last post. Enjoy the match. My wife tells me it was a very good match.

Exactly what happened to Nadal? I didn't see the match.
Also, congrats to Kim Clijsters for winning the Australian Open! I was really hoping that Li Na would win, but it was a great final match nonetheless. Something I really love about Li Na is that she has one of the best, biggest, and friendliest smiles with a fun personality. I hope that she wins at least 1 grand slam!
I was watching the match and kept wondering how much pressure that she must be feeling.

Nadal didn't tell anyone and he went back into the medical room to get treated so nobody really knows (as far as I know).
The announcers were guessing hamstring or back spasms or abdominal tear but really had no idea either. Although he did have his hamstring area taped so that is my guess.
The injury itself was subtle and couldn't be noticed from any 1 point. He was basically playing at 50% the rest of the way (wasn't going for hard balls and not as fast) because he couldn't run properly but supposedly played the entire match only out of respect of his Spanish opponent and friend, and the game itself.

The second set was disappointing. I lost interest and didn't pay much attention through the third set. Novak deserved the victory. He was clearly the better player. Great defence and some nice winners as well.

Yea he deserved it made Murray look like a noob. Shitty for the viewers though as it was a snooze fest. Even the announcers were bummed.
Novak is mah favorite player because he is funny as shit total goof ball.
And no I'm not jumping on the bandwagon - I said I wanted him to win in my first post of this thread

What a dominating performance by Azarenka in the Australian Open Tennis Championship match. Who knew that after losing the first 2 games that Azarenka would only lose one more game for the remainder of the match? Full marks for her win.

The 2012 Australian Open Championship match was the greatest match I have ever seen. Almost six hours. Momentum going back and forth between both players. Both players were so evenly matched. So many great points and great shots played by both players. So many great extended rallies. In the end Djokovic prevails over Nadal in 5 sets. Congratulations to both players.
After it was all over, both players left nothing in the tank. During the speeches by the tennis official, the players looked like they were going to keel over. Then two guys brought chairs for them to sit down. I thought that part of the award ceremony was funny.
I just got home at 12:45am local time from an extended work day in time to watch the entire match. It's now almost 7am here. I'm so jacked up, right now watching the awards ceremony. Good thing I don't have to work today.
