Default Cant get Recoveries to load

I am trying to root my s3. I have installed Odin and tried 3 different recoveries with it and everytime. Odin passes in green with all 3. But when I hold volume up,home and power it keeps loading the stock recovery which doesnt give me the option to install from sd card which is obviously what I need if I wanna try the new jellybean thats out there. What am I doing wrong??Something changed because under settings, about phone and status...it shows my device status as modified???but no recovery....help!

Do you have Superuser?

To get TWRP, download GooManager from the play store. Press menu, install open recovery script, yes, then reboot and you should have TWRP.

After the installation and installing, test to see if you have twrp.

Also don't accept any ota because without a custom ROM it will reinstall the stock recovery.

i think youre leaving f.boot checked, which you dont wanna do. plus, you cant install twrp via odin, however you should be able to install it while skipping cwm. Run the root process again with f.boot unchecked and the cwm file on the root of your card and let us know holmes

I dont think he can install twrp without completing the (normal) root process first.

I dont believe this will work.

OTA rom installs will fail when you have a custom recovery.

that doesnt mean it installed the superuser zip, and having f.reboot checked will force the S3 to ignore the cwm file

That's why I initially asked if he had Superuser.

i dont think he does, and even if he did, he still doesnt have cwm. Superuser is more than an apk, its a status in the android OS itself. The apk manages what other apks have SU access, which is necessary unfortunately...
