Default recover deleted photos?

Darn. I delete photos from my gnex. Is there a way to recover them? I tried recuva but because there's no external sd card, it does not recognize it.

That's unfortunate, and know the feeling. How exactly did you delete them? Manually or did you wipe internal storage?

I may be offline when you respond, so if you deleted them manually, you may want to give this a try:

How to recover deleted photos from galaxy nexus

It can recover files, photos, and videos, from the internal storage, as well as the sd card on the GNex.

I thought I was deleting one photo and deleted all of the cameras photos. Thought there might be a way to mount as mass storage and use a deleted file recovery program. But maybe not even with root.

Then you should be able to recover them no problem with the method I referenced in my prior post. Let me know how it goes.

I googled reviews for the Stellar program you linked before I lposted this question and people reviewed it poorly, called it a scam. So I avoided it.

I'll do a little more asking around and post my findings here.

You can always download the free version. It'll show you a preview of the recoverable photos, if it does this successfully, and the photos you're trying to recover are very valuable, go premium.

I found this other app that may help you:

Undelete App for Recovering Deleted Files on Android

Here's the GPlay link of Undelete:

I'm trying the first one now.
It's reading sector by sector. I think the scan will take hours but I'm hopeful.

Hope it works. All the file recovery programs I know of wouldn't likely work because they'd be expecting a SD card.... Good luck!

Half way thru scanning with the Stellar Phoenix Recovery program this morning. So far it says its "recovered" 62 files. Could be working because I deleted around 100. I'm excited.

well that was an expensive failure. The program recovered photos that had been uploaded by google as well as png, tifs, gifs, movies and musis but did not recover any photos that I deleted. Not sure if this program ever does work with internal sd cards. It took 18 hours to scan 900,000,000 sectors so I waited and waited and then had to go thru thousands of photos, maybe more. I have only had this gnex a month and only deleted about 100 photos. Oh well. The photos were of my awesome vacation to Tuolumne meadows. My sister was with me and she also took photos, so I do have photos of the trip by her. At least these were not photos of my kids and husband. Tomorrow I will look in to the other program and found a couple of others over at xda but i'm done for the day. Stupid internal sd card.

Sorry that didn't work out for ya. I've got a possible start to a solution... but it's technical and long.... Long post below.

Best of luck!

If I saved TB on my pc before I deleted the pix would the photo be in the gallery app in the backup?

Depends on if you backed up only the apk or user data as well.

No, I'm pretty sure they don't save with the app. They save in a separate folder.

Yeah. I looked a the backup I had of gallery. Photos are saved elsewhere. I just have to learn from this (backup pixs or upload) and move on.

I had mine turned off because I was using the Verizon 3g tower hack and wanted to minimize my usage...

Just following up. I deleted my photos and spent $40.00 on a photo recovery program called Stellar Phoenix Recovery. It did not recover my photos even though they advertised they could on GNex. I contacted them and asked for a refund which they gave me. yay.

Man that stinks, I wish you were able to recover them. Its nice that they gave you the refund though, I know of a lot of companies that wouldn't.
