Default Rooting With No Roms?

Is there a reason why people do this and if so why? Thanks

I do it to add an ad blocker and to install Droidwall (Android firewall), two things that I consider essential. After that, rom changes are gravy.

PS - and Titanium and MyBackup Root, oops, also essential. LoL

I'm debating whether or not to get one of these to replace a rooted Samsung Moment that I use exclusively as a mobile hotspot through the hacked hotspot. Will rooting this device unlock the hotspot?

TS;
I rooted so I could remove a lot of bloatware.
I have tryed other ROMs on my GS2 so in the future I my on my GN2.
And to use programs that un-rooted will not let you, as stated earlier.
