Default recovery issues

samsung galaxy s4 phones has been ROOTed i cant seem to use my backups im using 5.5.2.8 CWM on the stock rom. when i restore the backup and hit restart the phone after the restore is complete my phone gets stuck in bootloop. Any ideas on how to get the back up to restore correctly?
