The battery will actually have less juice in the cold... it is most likely your phone sorting things out in memory.

Do you sleep in a van down by the river?

No task manager. No heat issues either. Overall life seems to be improving, yesterday it was fully charged at 6:30 am, about 11:30 pm it was down to 53%. Unfortunately I am still having the issue of the battery rapidly dropping of after 50%. Only thing showing in spare Parts that seems odd to me now is the visual voicemail is second on the list of partial wake usage, and considering I haven't received a voicemail in almost a month it seems a bit worrisome.

on a side note, my andida seems pretty decent. i was never astute enough to be able to comment on how much better it may or may not be, but if this is helpful, my phone drained only 10% while standing by for about 7 hours over night. is that normal, or is that better?

You sure it is not a metal cage or does it say Faraday on it? <-only EE/CompE geeks are going to get that one. :-P

...my hero scaled to 245 sleep w/ setcpu on modaco 2.2 and gumbo kernel loses about 2-3% over an 8 hour sleep with 3 bars of reception.

So I've had mine for about a week now and I'm not remotely impressed by the battery life. Battery readings are extremely inaccurate and slow to refresh compared to stock, temp readings are NEVER correct, and the lower the battery gets, the faster it drops. The battery loses more power on standby than stock, although it seems to get a little better use while running. I have trouble noting the differences because the battery drops in large chunks instead of small, steady bits like with the stock battery.
I did accidentally let my battery die the first time I discharged it because the battery level readings can be off by as much as 20% (mine died showing 13%). Since there are so many good reviews on the battery, I bought another one to see what kind of results I get. I will be much more careful with the second one and get back to you all with the results. For now, I would advise you to keep the battery from dying at all costs.

Some of your issues may have more to do with the reporting of the data, vs the actual facts. The phone is probably reporting the % battery based on the expected capacity of the stock battery, rather than the larger capacity of the new battery. And I doubt that the battery has anything to do with the temperature report.

You're right, I didn't mean that the battery itself is doing these things. The bottom line is still the same, though =/ My temp. reading stops working, I have no idea what my battery percentage really is, and I'm not getting longer life out of the battery.

I also misspoke on how long I've had the battery--I actually received it almost three weeks ago, so I don't understand why some of these issues aren't straightening themselves out.

I wish there was a signal booster thing that actually worked. Not like those little plastic things you stick under the battery.

I've been using my battery for about a week now. I definitely notice a difference in when I need to charge at work. I never like my battery to sink below 30% and with the stock battery (at work) it was around 30 by lunchtime. With this new battery I can leave it go until 3-3:30 before hitting that 30% mark. That's 3+ more hours of constant searching for signal lol

At home I can go from whatever time I need to recharge at work on Friday to Sunday morning on one charge. I'd say that's a nice improvement.

Yes. Battery manufacturers will quick charge a battery to test it before shipping.

The instructions just say to charge it for twelve hours and then let it run down very low but not completely. Do this four or five times and then charge as needed.

I received mine Thursday, Charged it Thursday night and used it yesterday. I was not impressed with the battery life (very low by 11pm) which is what I get out of the oem battery. I will report back after a few more days of use (charging all night, using all day).

Either way, $10 spare battery!

My battery wasn't operating very well either until after about the 4th cycle through (charging it 100% then letting it die). What people need to realize, is even though your battery might look full, it takes a long time to actually charge to 100%. I'm willing to bet most aren't cycling their battery correctly to begin with. I get about 20% better battery life now.

The first half of a charge seems to last a good long time but once it hits about 40% it drops FAST. At 30% I get about an hour till it's d-e-a-d dead not using it.

Cool

just got mine yesterday and here is how it went:

I popped it in my phone at around 6 pm and it had about 70% on it. I went to the mall shot some texts and when i got home around 10 pm i was 43% but i was getting ready for bed and i needed it to drain so i could charge it. So i had to turn on sprint tv for about 30 min straight to get it to 30% and then after that it dropped pretty quick. This morning i took it off the charge after a full night charge and when i got to work i looked at my battery usually when i get to work im at 95% already today i was at 99% at 7:40. So i have seen some improvement early on but i will still do some charge cycles on it and let you all know how it goes. Ill report back tonight and let you know how it faired though the day.

It seems im having the same results as others. Yesterday the phone did alright it lasted at work with pretty moderate use (texting, a call or 2, and me running mlb @ bat '10 for about and hour listening to the dodger game ) But towards the end of my 8 hour day i was down to 39% which is around the same as my stock battery and it didnt really start to drop fast until around 19%. So i charged it when it got down to 6% and this morning i was ready to go. I got to work about hour after taking it off the charger and im down to 94%! worse than yesterday. What is weired though is it seems to drop down some like form 100 to 94 but then stays steady at 94 for a long time before it falls again. Like i said these seem to be the norm for this battery and im hoping that after a few more charge cycles it will be ready to go. Today when i charge it will be my 3rd cycle so im hoping it gets better.

also just curious...with this battery, is it not suggested to keep the phone on a constant charge at 100%? i usually keep my phone plugged in at work, so just curious if i should stop doing that with this battery.

i dont think this battery is better than stock. maybe even a bit worse. it seems to discharge very fast at first. in ten minutes i went from 100% to 96%. all in all, i don't think the battery is any better than stock.

my father will be getting his within a couple of days. he will be a better test than me as he is dead by the end of the day every day. if it holds up better for him, than i will be able to say for sure whether or not these things are any good.

My battery just arrived this afternoon - 16 days from Hong Kong to Florida. I always like how things come from Hong Kong with "gift" checked on the customs label. They are a very giving people.

about 14 hours in now...and its only gone down to 49%. took a 10 min call this AM, and been texting all morning, and still have all the things enabled. This is the first cycle im doing since i just got the battery last night, however, on the stock battery, i would have been down to about 50-60% by last night.

Alright after 24 hours with this battery I am not impressed.

First let me say that I am a heavy user of my phone, Continuously texting, talking on the phone, surfing the net, Emailing, and playing with the applications that I have downloaded. On the stock battery I received about 7 to 8 hours use before I had to recharge.

On this battery on the first cycle I only received about 6 hours of use before it was dead.

I will continue to test and see if it improves but at this time all I can say is that I got an extra battery for $10 and that is more than worth it.

OK Kiddies here's the thing... everyday with these fones for me is not the same... and I would suspect that for most people it is kinda the same.... talk times usage methods varies depending on the day ....
Now after cycling the bat a few times and running it for a week or so I put the stock bat back in and did my normal thing.... to see if the FEEL of the life of the bugger was REALLY better... and yes it is better... by far maybe not?
But there is a marginal improvement and for 10 bucks....
This bat IMHO is a great deal for 10 bucks and is for me an improvement over the stock bat....
I would for sure by it again!!!
there is my 2 cents on this... not that I am an expert or nuthin
salute

ok.. I got mine last Friday....

after first charge... I was after 8 of constant use: calls, texting, navigation, bluetooth, Pandora all day. I mean it was on constantly! (for those that dont know, Pandora is an internet radio!)

It is still going strong.. today is 3rd full charge. I will use it regularly. Not pushing it. And see how it does.

my opinion: For $10
It is a must buy!!!!!

Worse case senerio:
It is a great backup battery in emergencies.
even if it gets worse over time: and becomes 50% of the stock battery. Take into consideration: if I purchased one of those backup chargers thingies that use four AA batteries. Those things cost about $15 plus the cost of batteries. Never used one.. but i would think it sucks and the bulk and hassle.

After more time with the battery, I think it lasts longer then the stock. I have been using the phone a ton (mostly internet) and have yet to kill it after charge one. The stock would be dead hours before this one. One of the better purchases I have made.

I would recommend to anyone who wants longer lasting power.

Had my first day with the battery today. I had more than half the charge left this afternoon. My phone is rooted so I turned SetCPU to max performance and enabled just about everything just to drain the battery so I could recharge it overnight. If I had left everything in the normal modes, it probably would have lasted two days.

i started using mine yesterday

normally at the end of the day my battery is under 20%

last night before i plugged it in i was at 20% but i also listened to slacker radio on it for an hour. if i do that on the original battery it will die before i get home.

so far i like it
