I had that problem. I realized it was because I had kept way too many txt msgs. Once I cleared them out, it worked fine. Try clearing any long msg threads you may have.

I have personally posted the reason for this at least 3 times in the past week. Not hard to find if you look.

kirtlandbbt, welcome to the forum! Many folks here are very eager to help. I also have searched for something, and failed. The forum is so large and with so many different ways to word a search, the answer isn't always easy to find. Many times the results are just as overwhelming as the forum itself, especially to those who have just arrived. Please feel free to continue to use the forum as it is intended, and soon you will be able to offer help as well.

Seems like I can never find answers in search either. OP make sure your wireless network is on and WiFi is off. Also keeping the number of stored texts to a minimum on these phones seems like a good idea.

Lets hope we have to stop manually disabling wifi with the 2.1 update. That is such a stupid glitch.

(BTW, searching "Picture Message" in just the HTC fourm pulled up one of my posts, as did searching "Picture Mail". Sometimes different search terms are needed to find the info )

Sorry, is that too much info? Here ya go:

This is an unofficially known issue (meaning still in the "investigation" stage). It is being worked on, if turning the mobile network off and back on doesn't fix it, go to your Picture Mail account and you can view it there. I know, it's kinda a PITA, but since it happens to me intermittently, I don't really see it as that big of a deal.

www.sprint.com/picturemail

PS -- You can click on forum names and you get a pop-up that has an option to view that person's posts. I know it's hard to search through the posts of someone that has hundreds or thousands, but for people like me that don't really post that often, it's usually quicker than trying to find one of their posts other ways.

Had this problem on my wife's Hero. Tried EVERYTHING (still stock) but ultimately ended up bringing it to the service center where they basically gave it a hard-reset. Everything is fine for now, but this was within a month of being new, so quite frustrating. Waiting ever so patiently for 2.1

Hard resetting only fixed the problem for me for a few weeks. I'm back to not being able to view picture mail. I don't think hard resetting my phone once a month is worth it so I just have people send me pics through gmail or I go to the Sprint picture mail site to view them. Hopefully this issue is fixed with 2.1!

I have the golden answer!!
I was having this problem and boy oh boy did it have me burning up! I have the HTC evo and after the hefty price tag & extra 10 bucks a month for nothing (4g not available yet), I am pissed!! I have to wait Until sprint customer service is open before I start screaming at them...

ok, make sure you are NOT on wifi connection. Using advanced task killer, "kill" the messaging application. go back into your messages and click download. wallah, there's your picture!!

Hope that helps!!

Thanks to the dude who posted in in another forum!!

Note: I tried everything first, including deleting all my text messages except pending photos... nothing worked until I tried the tip above. EASY.
