Default My letter to HTC ( Just Blowing off some steam) *Strong Language Advisory*

*small meaningless rant to Htc*
You got me with the Touch Pro, HTC... couldn't we let it sleeping dog's lie?
HTC, are you incapable of making Devices with a greater than 528 MHz CPU?
I could have sworn its what My touch pro had last Nov when it came out...
And a year later the Hero? Really HTC? Really? This is the age of the IPhone 3GS... Guys apple set the standard. Its high Time Androids Hardware met its software in terms of awesomeness. And that means hardware keyboard. That means Big RESPONSIVE SCREEN (Kudos for what its worth on your magically coated glass screen on the hero... Scratches piss me off and that is one thing I'm not having issues with) and for The sake of all things Nerdy release a plethora of alternative KB layouts. The stock one with the hero Is awful. Please borrow an WinMO phone and download FINGERKB that is how a decent touch KB works. You used to make such nice devices. Mogul, G1. Ect
how is it that you left us a big steaming pile of hero and say Eat up nerds?
Then when inquired about fixes you ignore us like were not all gonna return our Hero devices if the moment comes out suck free?
You ship us phones with CRIPPLING Battery ISSUES... Crippling SMS and voice mail BUGS. and expect us to suck it up? Sense UI and makes the device awful pretty. Alas as my grandpa once said, "A Shiny turd is still a turd." phone drops sms's as in I NEVER RECEIVE THEM... NOT DELAyED LIKE My TP but NEVER!!!!! COMEONE THE F$$%$#%ING Device is nearly 3 WEEKS OLD.
HTC Plz do not be like AMD and let success get to your head and lead you to believe we the android community will settle on anything less than hardware that works NOW,is supported and is CONSTANTLY being updated to be better than it was yesterday, Then you my Friends are sadly mistaken. this is the Reason we Have ANDROID devices.
you good sirs have lost my business this round. I will keep you in mind for the future but you fellows need to kick it up a notch. looks like Samsung is laughing at you now. if Motorola gets the same privilege a Little piece of me will die inside...

*thanks to all who listen and or feel my pain*

I agree with the issues in the latter part of your mail, but its mostly just sulky kids stuff.
You can't blame them for the spec, it was never a secret. You didn't have to buy the device. I'm a bit gutted that my hero was a flagship device a couple of weeks ago, and now there are doubts about its ability to handle 2.0 update.

That's life though.

BTW: is. Your avatar ironic?

Just rumors Carl C. People have taken this story and started interpreting HTC's stated future plans for 2.0 phones as meaning they won't update their current phones. That's reading a little too much into it, IMO.

i hope you send that to them. they probably wont care...but when a bunch of their phones start getting returned...maybe they will. I will return mine if this sleeping issue keeps rearing its ugly head. I have reset it once already since sat., but i'm blaming it on an app i downloaded at the moment.....only time will tell.

my avatar is the cover to the last album I released...
your right though I didn't have to buy the device.
I guess I just put too much faith in HTC;s Desire to make android the next big thing.

Surely you knew the specs before you bought the phone? (he says stirring up the argument)

I did... What I did not know is that less than 30 days later a surperior device that crushes it spec wise would be released 3 wks later.
as we all know spec's are nothing compared to a hands on test run

Fair enough, I can't argue with that.

I always try to remember there will always be something bigger and better around the corner, otherwise I would never buy any phone or gadgets because Ill be constantly waiting and waiting and wait....

Ah, that magic moment when you have the latest and greatest bit of kit and everyone else is jealous...

At least Google give us OTA updates so I don't have to worry about the software on my 'outofdateallready!' hardware

I know how you feel. I'm really thinking about returning my phone just putting my old phone back on my plan. That way I get my $180 back plus upgrade eligibility status, so when a better phone with less bugs come out I can upgrade.

BTW, I only have two days left before I'm stuck with the Hero. Any suggestions?

The phone launched on the 8th and you have 30 days.
Its impossible to the best of my knowledge for it to be over your time limit.

HTC's touch pro had THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of defective units returned to them the whole year it was on Sprint's line-up and they did very little about this despite the known issues and reported bugs, instead they just fixed most of it in the TP2...gee thanks HTC. I doubt they would care about any complaints we make on the Hero when they didn't even care about their best professional device =/.

I wasn't too tech savvy when I had mine, it had tons of potential, and a very nice looking interface, but the problems with WinMo and the phone itself(mainly the keyboard) I could hardly ever use it lol, went through 6 before Sprint decided to give me a new phone.
