Default WITHOUT WARNING sprint pulls the rug out from underneath

I was well aware that sprint doesn't like roaming but since I've had sprint I've been roaming cuz there are no Sprint towers near by. Sprint gave me and my family(5phones) the boot after being a customer for 3 1/2yrs. The thing that ticks me off is that they never gave a warning letter or anything. For the past few monthsI was changing prl and trying different thinking because the service was so bad. I always used tons of data because I wanted to take advantage of the "unlimited" data. Four months roll by and they didnt say anything until they sent the goodbye letter. I no they can caxxxxxx the plan at any time but besides getting a new company is they anything I can do?

Well, I would have started with the obvious, which would be to call Sprint and complain about your service. They probably would have given you and Airave or Airvana or whatever they're calling it these days. That would have likely fixed your problem immediately. Now, I would still call Sprint, plead your case and hope for the best. Otherwise, it's new company time.

I don't have wifi so the airwave wldnt do anything. And in the letter they didn't even leave a number to call them with.

You wouldn't have needed WiFi for an Airave... just a basic internet connection.

You knew this was a possibility with roaming.

Sprint is very cash poor right now and I'm not suprised their booting the people who are costing them money.

Sprint has to pay Verizon for you to use their towers... And it ain't cheap

I can give you the number for customer rentention. It will save you a lot of time dealing with people who can't do anything about it.

I think the # for Sprint's Retentions Department: 800-235-1185, 888-211-4727
Is that. But I wld I even say that wld appeal to them to Keep me around?

You won't know until you plead your case to them, and it is not your fault they don't have good tower reception in your area, worth a shot, you have nothing to loose.

And no not dial up, you would need a proper internet connection, dial up would be to slow for the airana

You can not use Dialup with the airave/airvana units. you need DSL speed or better.

Sprint's terms of service are pretty clear that data is not unlimited while roaming. They generally won't care however unless your roaming data usage gets excessive, and as you said yourself you were using a ton of it to take advantage of the "unlimited" data. They should have given you a warning or advance notice, and may have done so if you check your bills for the past several months.

Nonetheless, if you want back in I would try pleading ignorance to any warnings. Don't mention that you didn't know roaming data wasn't fully unlimited; because it's in the terms you signed on your contract, you're legally responsible for knowing that. You'll have better luck pleading insufficient warning to a retention specialist.

Good luck with U. S. Cellular. I'll have to remember to check that section of the forum to read about the "out of the blue" gigantic monthly fees that other cellular carriers pass along to their customers when they leaving the roaming wide open by default.

It is in your contract that you can not roam more than 60% of the time. If you do then they have the right to cancel your service. Good luck with US Cellular.

and pretty well spelled out in every how to for forced roaming that you can, and will most likely end up in the situation
